Hi Caesar,

With me, you are still a child. Time will change your thought and you will feel shame at your words today.

Respect for self and respect for others.

Have a nice day.

Steve

. . . there are a good number of guys who switched from dCS to Schiit Yggy. That's only $1999. Some guys may have bought used for $14.99... One can conclude that Schiit blows dCS also.... :) Schiit may be even more transformational than Wadax by that type of logic.... :)

Hi caesar,

1) Who are these guys? Please ask them to describe their auditions, preferences and decision processes here.

2) How can one conclude "Schitt blows dCS" because a few guys traded to a less expensive product? How do you know this means such people prefer the sound of the Yiggy over the sound of the dCS?

How do you know they aren't switching on a value basis (for example, they conscientiously are accepting a moderate diminution in sound quality for a significant reduction in price)?

3) Where can I buy a Schitt Yiggy for $14.99.

4) What logic is the "type of logic" to which you refer?

Dear
Elliot, enjoy in great health! But don't assume everyone else has the same taste as you.
This is my point with you oh great Caesar, you are the one that makes these judgements and everyone else is wrong. Taste is something that I don't think much about since there are many that I have met that there taste is just bad. One can choose bad stuff and really that is not my concern. The Wadax is not about choosing a color or a flavor and for those who have actually sat and listened to it they do get that this product is something special and clearly transcends the others. I am not talking about a drive by at a show I am talking about having it a system that is well arranged and being able to hear what these items are capable of. Me personally I don't care about your taste, its not something I ever give thought too, I love music and the products that bring me closer to the music, that involve me emotionally, that take me to places where I can experience the artist and the venue this is what I am concerned with and strive for.
You are invited to come and experience it for yourself if you are in the area. We will be showing at three shows this fall and I will do my best to make these systems work however its still a show and still hotel rooms with all that that brings with it. I hope that within the limited time and scope we can produce sound that resembles what is in my room now.
I think you need however to have a "little' less mustard on your pastrami!

Caesar certainly doing some Dirty Work here.

This is some of the most disgusting audio marketing we've seen since Magico Q5 and Berkeley Reference DAC.

Maybe this is a great DAC but until someone compares it to others, we will never know.

I don't know who WE is. The DAC was formally reviewed by Roy Gregory who has reviewed many DACS. It was also reviewed by Robert Harley who has also had many DACS. There are numerous others who have clearly stated their opinion on the product but these are just not good enough for you? I have stated my opinion but that is meaningless and worthy of you making fun of, how about Audio Exotics? Stirling Trayle? Dennis Chern? How about the members here who own it or have seriously listened to it?

It just doesn't fit your "rules" so that makes it disgusting? You are truly a piece of work. Some listeners don't require a AB test for some 40 year old CDs to hear what this item is capable of. I clearly stated that I have listened to the MSB Select 2, the dCS Vivaldi Stack, the CH Precision C1.1 mono with clock and power supplies and others still not important since it doesn't work for YOU. If it really means that much to you go and listen for yourself.

Below is a list of reviews

Nice dac Elliot is right! There's just too many ppl with thoughts and solutions but commenting on things they haven't listened to doesn't help anyway

  • I've heard it and it is definitely a contender. If you get a chance to hear it, it might be worth your while.

Interesting Howie...if you are happy to say in public...where would you place the Wadax in this world of great digital? Do you think it competes for the top 1-3 digital sources that you have come across? Top 1?

I will be happy to say that its the top of the heap and its not close. I have an MSB select two here in trade and I personally sold off my 7 box CH precision gear. My friend that owns a Vivaldi stack has already asked me for trade in numbers towards the Wadax. Its not a contender its the new standard for what digital is capable off and if you hear it in your system ( Its an expensive item I realize but so are the dCS, MSB,CH, Total etc.)
you wont want to remove it. It doesn't sound like anything , try it you will see. Its not a flavor it is something really special.

Thanks, Elliot. Interesting about the CH. Definitely will aim to give the Wadax a listen when time/safety allows!

That's what reviewers and others report as well, a remarkable consensus.

ck mentions the other way though that he prefers the total dac to the wadax - i am mystified to say the least, has anyone compared the totaldac to the wadax in a shootout?

To be honest, it's such a subjective issue I rarely rate gear. It's not a cop out, merely an ackowledgement that my tastes may be very different from others. Put it this way, if it found its way into my rack, I wouldn't kick it out.

Preference is often dependent on what brands they represent ! ;)

bang on Lagonda haha - i am wondering what ck's comment meant previously - if he can tell us more when he preferred the totaldac ( & another one as well he mentioned brand wise too) to the wadax . I know ears can be different, ck seems to have a good grip out there though
