Changing variables in a review

Cable man , whats your point .
If there are no advertisers there are no magazines .
101 economics , which results in to having to find some sort of balance .
Sounds perfectly normal to me , some magazines read more like an add altogether, others put in a lot more work measurements etc
Yup I get that. And yup I understand the economics. But the correlation twix advertising budget and reviews is a disgrace to this industry.

Yes, Peter, but you claim that your power cords are the best because they don't "enhance" anything, are the most balanced and do the least harm.

That characterization is debatable.

BTW, I used to think similarly about generic power cords (not specifically Ching Cheng). I'll more than gladly admit that I am now eating crow.
I was happy for years using Ching Chang on my sources. I would describe the sound is linear. It doesn't try to manipulate the signal so sounds natural, organic ... top to bottom. So doesn't "enhance" is somewhat correct with generic in general despite all sounding different.

Got some from ddk and found a bunch off Ebay with similar sound. Gave many to friends to try before spending big money on audiophile cables.

‘His methods’ were a disgrace IMHO. Who cares if he came in here to try to justify his flawed and embarrassing evaluation process. If you wanna still defend him /its on you.

‘Many reviewers are doing their best’. Are they. Are they really or are those who work in the most ‘prestigious’ rags having to make concessions for big bucks big advertising manufacturers.
These rags have a tendency to favour larger operations. The small guys barely get a look in yet the latter often make products that slaughter the former when comparatively priced. Do you think that’s fair?

do you think it’s fair that some distributors seem to get a disproportionate amount of hilariously positive reviews across their entire product range while others struggle to get a mention.

it’s not me whos trying to square the circle, to bend over backwards, to ignore the festering rot that set in and still goes unspoken ; and if our recent experiences in here are anything to go by will continue to be excused coz you know ‘he’s an educator’.
ok
i swore not to but for this I have too
so explain how when industry experts post absurdly wrong comments it’s ok
weather his phylosphy is wrong or right he admitted what he does and there is correct logic to it. there is no way one amp or better yet preamp will gel perfect with all products even if it tests great. i get your approach but would not leave it as is. i have done as you and some here do.
i have had room issues with a certain amp I did not with my present amp
preamps that can’t drive an amp or long interconnects
for you to be correct all I just posted is wrong. if so ok ill Give up trying to reason. if it’s purely about reviews well let’s just say I get you but your world could not sustain this forums in advertisements lol.
so I’m standing firm on his comments but it’s audio we all can be right in some ways

ok now I hope I’m really done before I get deleted hahaha
still all in a fascinating thread of views and only here could this happen so I thank all.
im truly sorry how the audio business works it’s extremely unfair
and your correct some really bad products get praised
wonder if they are industry xxxx too.
so we can agree in part

Lots of attacks and angry words some of which I don’t disagree but I can’t get past the cowardice of hiding behind a moniker, specially if you’re really in the industry as you claim to be. No reason to hide if you’re not afraid to back the tough talk up.

Hahahaa see this can be fun and I am sorry for you as well. Life is
not fair unless you make it so. Play with the rules to make your money not complain it’s all unfair even if it is.
Ok to my 18 year macallan double oak cask
it’s unfair I have to pay so much for there name

This guy gets it.
LOL. Just remember that you can't dump it on 'em all at once. This kind of unveiling can take months if not years. Don't know why, it just does.

Audiophiles have nothing if not patience. Sometimes lots of it is needed.

Indeed. But it’s all about context, right? Just think. If it were not for the many preconceived narratives, you and I could actually be on the same page sharing the same context.

Merry Christmas, Marc. ;)

When Uve got the balls to call out the corruption do get back. Otherwise you’re just another typewriter warrior with nothing to say.

I can see why people are puting you on ignore. You are sounding like a 3 year old. If you keep this up, there will be no one left to listen to you.
