The introduction of the SR Pink fuse was announced on April 1st, so I wasn't convinced at first .........

I have one Master fuse (first UK 13A mains plug, from wall to Aletheia PSU2 balanced mains distribution) one Purple in the mains PC (which I was given, free of charge), feeding power to my dCS Vivaldi Apex DAC and the rest are mainly Oranges (13A and internal casework fuses) with a smattering of Reds.

I tried a Blue (didn't like it - although it does enhance the picture quality in the mains plug to my LG OLED TV, where it now resides!), but don't have any experience of the Black, which a friend, who's judgement I trust, cautioned me to avoid!

I like the present balance of my system, so I don't think I will be auditioning the "Pink!"

Not satisfied with their Purple then Master fuses, SR have now launched their pink fuse....

P.S. Not a joke, unless they're in on it as well! https://highend-electronics.com/products/synergistic-research-pink-quantum-fuses
I had the Master fuse on my dac one month ago. It’s not a game changer but i felt immediate diferences like the sound is more natural, more like it should be (miss better terms).

In my system I preferred the Audio Magic M2 over the Pink in my PS Audio P20. The Pink was good, but the M2 seemed a bit blacker and has a “less busy” quality to it without any loss of detail by comparison. It also gives me in my system a slightly better sense of 3 dimensional space. I could see the Pink being a good choice in the right system.

I just put the Pink in my Pulsar and it makes a difference for sure. I can't give a full opinion but first impressions are everything sounds a little more natural and mids and highs are sound a little more clear and revealing. I am sure it needs time to settle in, only had it in about 4 hours, but first impressions are that fuses do make a difference, whether it's good or bad will depend your system, where you place it, and your ear.

So listening again today after having run signal through it all night, sounds the same. Definitely lifted the upper mid and high frequency sounds but it's the voices I am questioning. Sounds shouty or maybe just too forward and a little sss-ssss-sss sibilant at times with tracks I know do not sound that way without the fuse, which may be break-in related. For example, when I listen to No Moon at All from Diana Krall literally sounds like I am inside her mouth.. Overall the fuse adds more clarity to everything, brings it more forward and deepens the sound stage and I don't have to turn volume as high but I can't live with shouty-ness. I am hoping this improves with break in because I like everything else the fuse does, but sibilance and shouty are deal-breakers for me.

To be clear, I have a very laid back system overall, very musical, but very revealing to changes.

Please continue to report about your impression as burn in proceeds. Highly interesting as your system characterization resembles with mine.

How about the fuse burning process?

it definitely rounded out a little but it's still forward sounding with voices, need to give it more time. I'd say this fuse offers a very 3d-like sound stage but it pushes things a little bit in the upper octaves. More burn in needed, I am still undecided on it, likely will stay with it but need to go back to the old fuse to see the difference before I give up on it. So far I like it overall but still a little luke warm in my opinion of the voices. Hoping things balance out over time

I put the fuse that came with the Pulsar back in, smoothed things out. Might stick with it, will try again for some more listens tomorrow. The shoutyness is a deal breaker, this will be speaker dependant I think..It's a good fuse, worth trying with the 30 day money back. Glad I got to experiment with it to see if it works in my system.

Another option to consider here is that the SR Purple is a tried and true fuse with a lot of folks here and on other forums experiencing good results.

you running that one?
Yes, very noticeable improvement in my Lampi Baltic 4 DAC. You can check around on other forums, but it seems to be the consensus pick for a fuse upgrade.

How about the fuse burning process?
I now have Masters throughout my system, having upgraded right up the range from Oranges to Purples, to the Masters.
I’ve found large changes during the burn in period, which IME took around 24 hours of use to settle down. Others report changes up to 200-300 hours, but I didn’t really notice much.
Initially and up to around 24 hours, (in my system), the bass was much leaner which did result in the upper frequencies sounding extremely dynamic and transparent…uncomfortably so. Then at around the 24 hour mark, I switched everything on one day and the bass had suddenly filled out and the balance of the system was back to normal. But the sound quality was much better. Swapping back to the old fuses is the only way of really hearing what the fuses do, and particularly with the masters, the results are very impressive.
If I had my time again I would just go straight to the masters, as yes they are expensive but the increase in SQ from say the Oranges, is more than worth the difference in the cost.
Hope that helps…
