Finally, a sequel and it looks promising;

The Greek general Themistocles battles an invading army of Persians under the mortal-turned-god, Xerxes.

Eva Green & Lena Headey

Coincidentally, just re-watched the BluRay of the first 300 last week with my family. Saw it way back in 2007 and forgot most of it except the giant beast of a warrior from the Persian camp. My kids were asking me if this were historical, how come there were monsters out there? :D Nice one, can't wait for the sequel to come out.

LOL must had taken an effort not to try and convince them it was true.
Well at least it will be worth it just for Eva and Lena (thought she played the part well in the 1st one), both very talented actresses and quite stunning as well IMO.
But will there be more spitting the words "This is Sparta!!!!", was enough to drown the enemy :)

Cheers

It appears it is still penned by Frank Miller so yes, I'm in.

Was watching Arnold's The Last Stand the other day and noticed the name Rodrigo Santoro. I remember that he played Xerses and looking up some pics, what a great make-up job by the 300 crew to transform him from a nice friendly looking guy into a fearful menacing warrior.

Can't wait to see the sequel.

What a bit of eyeliner and jewelry can do. LOL!

...And extremely tall too!

Yeah, when my son saw the scene wherein Xerses stood face to face with the already 'big' king Leonidas, he said, WHOA! Xerses suddenly looked 8 feet tall, or 9 even. LOL

For what PRO football/baseball/basketball/golf players get paid, this is what we should see.

And, the team owners should be in the thick of it.

zz.

Can't wait.

Just saw this on the big screen, THX, just now with my son. It's about as gigantic and magnificent a movie pasted on the screen as I've ever seen. In terms of power, magnitude and vivid fighting scenes, it's perhaps the most extreme I've ever seen. Gasp. Eva Green is something else here. Enchanting, powerful, and deadly woman.
I'm looking forward to a 3rd one.

How do you think it compares to the 1st one?

I personally feel both are pretty much the same in entertainment quality though I think this second one is better made in terms of projecting the power of the war and fighting scenes. The 'navy' wars scenes are really awesome and glued me to my back seat. Story wise, this is a different angle from the Leonides story which was Sparta against the Persians. This one is about the Greeks, or Athens, if I'm not mistaken against the Persians. It's like a completion of the 1st movie. And as I mentioned, I want to see a 3rd to happen.
