Hi Tim,

No I haven’t tried BB without HRS platform. I am still on vacation and for the moment i am enjoying sea and sand.

However I am reading with great interest @bonzo75 and @gian60 SAT threads and i am very impressed with the sound of SAT with Lamda. Gianluigi has sent me some videos too with SAT and Koetsu, I think Ked will upload them today. Koetsu is sounding as never before with this tonearm

Savvas my friend, I am late to the party, but congratulations! I wish you many happy years of listening with that wonderful TT setup!

I know owning the Avenger I may be asking for disappointment , but is there a chance I could get a listen to that musical comparison?

Hi Savvas,

May I suggest changing the HRS platform to a 1 inch thick steel plate. It is very cheap to try and it might introduce you to something interesting. What is your BB standing on anyway now? Granite has its sound, harzan has its sound, Stacore has its sound. I believe you are a person that can go so big on this hobby before you do that I urge you to consider simple cheap alternatives.

Kind regards,
Tang

Dear Tony,

i do have some video recordings from Avenger time, I will make videos of the same albums with BB and I will post them here.

Thank you Tang for your suggestion.
The HRS platform is sitting on top of a 4 cm granite piece.
I have a very positive experience with 3 cm stainless steel plate under electronics and I think that is something I have to try.

A 3.5 cm thick stainless steel plate under my power amp made an immediate unbelievable sound improvement, in such a degree, that I called the dealer to advise him that this is a necessity for his future and existing clients.

Hello,
may I ask you what were the arguments for the Brinkmann over the Kuzma XLDC?

Please do a search. There are many reviews now of Brinkmann. One reason is brinkmann is the most consistently musical table, top to bottom, great tone, nuance, linearity through the midbass, authority.

This is how Vienna's system sounds now

The above is an all gryphon tidal system. This is a Allnic/soulution system. Doesn't matter, brinkmann is great in both.

Thank you Ked for posting the video that I‘ve sent you earlier. I am enjoying every single listening session with my Brinkmann Balance.

During the last two weeks period, i had one of the most expensive tt at my home, for listening in view of a potential purchasing.
this tt is at the region of 100k usd and still today is a reference for many reviewers, equipped with the most expensive to-date Tonearm.
I will not refer to the measured wow/flutter and vibration numbers, which were really high (way higher than my Brinkmann Balance), but to the fact that such a specifically complex design and construction had failed to provide me with the engagement, music flow and musicality that my Brinkmann consistently does.

Perhaps it is in need of some maintenance and probably of belt replacement, but again this could never happen from the end user.

Last Saturday I packed it and sent It back to its owner. The same afternoon listening to my Brinkmann Balance, while I was making a recording for Ked (https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/brinkmann-balance-kuzma-4p.31089/page-3#post-677987) , I was feeling all this engagement and goosebumps that Brinkmann Balance is offering for some decades now, through the simpler yet high engineered design.

Most expensive to-date tonearm is a give away.

Interesting, I just made the switch as I took delivery yesterday. I loved the La grange, however, had a local opportunity for this.

My initial combo will be the 4pt as well. I will again put the FR64s on it for the Koetsus as well. I'm going to say it here: this is it for me on TTs!

Why would you put pivot on a linear tracker?
