Here in the UK a couple more cases reported taking total to 16, Returnees from Northern Italy.
A news report on BBC TV last night that the Government in discussions with local authorities on contingency plans for big out break including sites for mass burial sites. A bit chilling really but has been in contingency plans in the past so not really new and a sensible precaution.
No need to worry Barry. Even Thailand with so many Chinese came in could control the spread quite well. We will soon go into phase three and expect cases to accelerate. I am sure your advance country can manage much better. Just need your people to be serious in preventing and co-operating.

Interesting info on the masks. All we see on the news is entire populations wearing these useless, ineffective masks.
Heck, I saw on the news yesterday a young woman with a mask that covered only her mouth. Her nose was still open to the world. Hehe...I don't think that some people even know how to wear a mask properly.

Thank God.
But I think I said, excellent carriers, ala Typhoid Mary.

My understanding is that, in order to be a carrier, a person would have to have the disease. And according to the article I linked to, only a handful of kids have tested positive for the coronavirus.

But I claim zero expertise in this area so I could easily be mistaken.

My lay opinion is you cam be asymptomatic or not infected and transmit the disease.
Not everyone carrying a virus gets sick.

I keep a close eye on the data and noticed that in China things seem to be improving.

China is on the road to recovery. Korea is now the new epicenter followed closely by Italy and of course the entire of EU.

Nobody seems to take this threat halfway as seriously as China and the devastation elsewhere may be on a different scale. The level of denial within the EU is unbelievable.

It seems that China took all radical measures, and I mean that from what I've been reading...experts who went there on the field.

But the rest of the world is simply not ready.

And, as I've said earlier (post #325) with an included article (link) I'm simply not sure if we can trust China's informations ...

The number of deaths were stalled @ around 2,700 for roughly 24 hours, quite unusual, out of the norm. So I first thought that things were improving, till that article from post #325.

Now, the latest stats (48 hours later) ... over 2,850 deaths ...

Ironic really. Audiophiles are already the most self-isolating individuals on the planet, locking themselves in sound-proof chambers, playing the kind of elevator music guaranteed not to entice human contact, not even venturing out to visit record shops.
