Marc is a doctor. He can keep earning into old age. Covid 19 won't stop people from having back issues, it is up to Marc whom he chooses to meet.
This is different for employees who will be laid off because their employer cannot make a profit. Most at risk right now is most of the airline staff. They will find it difficult to get employed again.
My government in Denmark basically closed the country down wednesday to slow the spread of the virus. Negotiations between unions employer organizations and the government have resulted in 75-90% employee pay
to everyone sent home from work. Including airline personnel SAS have sent 4000 out of 4200 employees in Denmark home.
Businesses are getting financial help to stay afloat trough these troubled times to. And of course we have universal health care, that’s why i don’t mind paying our relatively high taxes !
Ked, this is not a pi$$ing up the wall competition. We're ALL vunerable. However I'm in a touch profession, and treat a lot of oldies, health compromised, pregnant mums/toddlers. It's only gonna take one additional level of prohibitive advice from Boris, and that might be it. Luckily unlike some more "prestigious" clinics, I have a lean and mean approach to business ie I can survive for the same income a chiropractor would consider small change.
Ked, we're ALL at risk. And so when I hear that the Danish and Norwegian govts are to promise a guaranteed 80% of incomes to all (to a max of €50k), it makes you think.

Bob, I don't need a virus to teach me that government bureaucrats are a bunch of incompetent dickheads, been watching them for decades and honestly I don't see this as a dark tunnel, lived through a lot worse in my 60 years. By this I don't mean to be reckless but I don't see the doom and gloom that we're getting fed; and people seem to be buying it.

Ok, it seems that I'm half decade older and I've never lived through something like this, and I've been through a lot, a whole lut, colored blinded and washed out completely.
Today is the worst day in history of the stock markets. The breaking circuits keep popping out for the last eight days.
If they had their way they would stop totally the financial market circus game and let the oil spill freely till it burns completely to hell and back.
We'll get over it, we always do, if not us your grandchildren...whatever we leave them with ... their heritage from our legacy.
If this is handled correctly everything could be back to normal in 3-4 month.
The Chinese did it, so can we !

Marmota, your posts all describe practice that's beyond appalling. It's a real shame that this, and those totally unthinking "citizens" who are aggressively hoarding, will probably not have kharma visit them.
