I have not ordered it as a single new purchase, but it is part of a trade in of my old Reed 3P. The danish distributor handled everything and communicated with Reed. I just gave him the details of the DaVa and told him what finnish, length and arm material I wanted. Reed then came up with the solution of increasing the mass and having the field coil wires run inside the arm. The whole thing set me back 10k dkk as part of the trade in.
No, not too bad, given how hard it is to sell certain items in the scandinavian market theese days. Even with the weak NOK it takes a long time to get rid of things, items I was confident would go out of Norway. So when I got contacted by the dansih distributor, it was an easy thing to do. Minimal to none effort from my side, old arm part of the deal and I get, what hopefully is, a good matching arm to the DaVa. Also good fun to have a “specially” made arm for me..
Now I need to find a good 3012-R for my G.C. Elite, but that belongs to another thread.
I still have Reference and mono and just traded in A1
the Soul is in another league when it comes to resolution and extension in both ends compared to the Reference
the tonality is still the same
the A1 is in comparison a little more like chocolaty WE300B
both the the Reference and the Soul was installed in the outstanding Eugene Komissarow Harmony arm, and as such was given the same circumstances, when it came to tt, arm, cable, sut and riaa
Hi Leif. Now that you have more hours on your Soul, can you share more details about its sound? Ok, better resolution and extension compared to the Reference, same tonality. What about body, fullness, dynamics…? Any drawbacks? With what VTF are you driving it?

Hi
It’s faster, better separation, tracks better/ all at 2,5g
Tonality about same.Reference maybe a tad more forgiving,
Soul wider and deeper soundstage

Also waiting for my mono to be installed. Unless winter is extra harsh with the Norwegian roads between the west coast and Oslo the next 24 hours or so, my new arm and turntable will arrive safely tomorrow and the mono can be installed over Christmas.
Received my new arm today. A modified Reed 2B as I’ve been writing about earlier. 12” cocobolo with increased effective mass and complete with field coil power supply wires pre-installed as can be seen om first picture. Nice looking arm.
How does one go about buying a Dava?
How much do they cost?
What are the specifications?
Google brings nothing. Sorry if that is covered previously but can't go through 56 pages of posts looking for it.

Darius told me to try grounding the body of the cartridge, so a short piece of wire was attached to the minus-pin and headshell screw. Did not have any noise issues before so hard to tell if there is any real benefit to this, but will let it stay.

Hello,
Yes I am. Currently have the original "base" DAVA cart with a battery supply built. Ive a JAZZ on order that I should have this spring. Even the original DAVA has been fantastic, I cant wait to see how the Jazz compares.
EDIT: I mistakenly called the SOUL the "jazz" which.. isnt a thing. Too much audio-multitasking going on..
