I've been reading everything there is to read about this latest disaster story,
and let me tell you that it is very sad indeed what this captain is all about!

Any comments?

* I did not post any links or videos as there are already hundreds of them all over the world!

Not just the captain but the state of affair with these cruise ships. Registered overseas to escape taxes, there is also no jurisdiction over them. I am actually surprised the Italians put the captain behind bars. Kudos to them asking him to go back on the ship.

I think they should stop the practice of having the captain come and dine with the passengers. I need him running the ship, not come and spend the night with me. Has anyone seen the captain of an airplane come and dine with the passengers? Not sure this guy would have been awake enough to hear the depth sounder and every other instrument which sounded the warning but still, having him on the bridge is the right policy.

Good points Amir (in particular regarding the captain dining with passengers).

What is a captain for?

Do you know why he bifurcated from his normal route?
...To say Hi (waving hand) to his pal on the island!
And to please his friend, the main chief waiter, another friend on the boat!

And that young 25-year old dancer!..

He also ordered some food and dessert about 45 minutes after the impact!

Ho, and he also felt into a lifeboat by accident, so he couldn't assist other people.

Ah man, those Italians sometimes ... That captain drove that cruise ship just like a Lamborghini!

Listening and reading the passenger's stories is absolutely terrifying!
And the poor souls still on that cruise ship!
...One 4-year old girl still missing! {Her story his heart-wrenching.}
And that older couple who perished, oh my god, nobody told them!

This is human drama of the highest order of level!
No music can attenuate this!
