Or the H3000 is just a ordinary with a big price tag.

As for the rest of your post Lotus...all I will say is I am not selling anything and you are.

this is not a dig on Allnic, but someone help me understand their track record as a co., the designer, etc ? before plunking down my hard earned cash id like to know something about the designer's credentials (and design philosophy for that matter), if they come from a country w/ a long history in high-performance audio helps (Korean products were completely absent until recently). I do own a Marantz clone from a non descript korean mfr. that serves up rehashed gear based on old WE, EMT and marantz circuits - nothing original. in fact this co. specializes in authentic clones of vintage EMT. There is a large vintage audio scene in Asia especially japan and probably Korea that aims their products at enthusiast that like that sound, never having heard allinc I wonder if they're of that similar mindset.

Whatever you say Andrew, just trying to help with some ideas.

You were defending the brand you sell while at the same time advertising yourself by extolling the virtue of "good" dealership support. And criticising me for good measure. Nice.

@Microstrip - glad you have had a good experience with Lotus and Allnic. I wouldn't go near Lotus after this thread. Or Allnic after my experiences with it.

Some ideas? How about the rear XLR connector pushed into the chassis which upon inspection was a cheap 50 cent plastic connector held in by a spring clip, that had been tampered with before.

How about the H3000 sounding undynamic, flat, homogenised and lacking in timbal accuracy.

How about I'd just spent 10k and didn't want a bar of troubleshooting anything. Particularly not when it's 30 kg and I have to lug the thing around.

How about I wanted the dealer to take the H3000 back for 7.5k, he wouldn't so I sold it for 6.5k.

How about me swapping a Leben CS600 ($5500) plus $1500 for a T2000 and regretting it from the moment I plugged the T2000 in. The Leben 600 was just a much better amplifier. Period.

How about the resale on Allnic, which is just dreadful.

How about that my experience of Allnic ( both the T2000 & H3000) do NOT accord with the reviews which, apart from MF, exhibit some pretty wishful thinking from my standpoint.

How about in my direct experience a Dyna P75 in current mode blowing the doors off the Allnic for transparency, dynamics and timbre? At $795. Add an Ypilson SUT and it isn't even close.

How about my friends Ypilson SUT & Leben phono seeing off the H3000 comprehensively. The differences were not subtle. One involved you in the music the other ( the H3000) was bland, edgy and dull.

How are those apples?

My Doshi phono is part of a full function preamp. I need a phono to use with my Pass XP-30 preamp. I would love to have a Doshi phono!

Why are you listening to the Allnic? Demo at home I guess, so why not. :D

The Doshi is less expensive than the Allnic and better sounding It seems from all that have heard both phonos.

I would love to hear the Doshi, but living downunder quite impossible. I would think it would be more similar than different to my TW/Thoress tube phono which has fet first gain stage as well.

Cheers

Why am I listening to the Allnic? Because I believe it's one of the better tube phonos out there and available now. The Doshi is more expensive and not available at the moment.

sounds like he has an axe to grind w/ Allnic. I'm not so sure I would run an 70 wpc integrated tube amp through 85dB sensitivity small monitor speakers and expect a concert experience volume wise. I can't imagine the Allnic being edgy. I think the real problem could lie somewhere in the source.... Table/Arm/cart/ (Set up), choice of tone arm cable along with inadequate and under powered speakers.

I kinda/sorta understand that for whatever reason, he didn't like the Allnic and had to take a real financial beating to unload it. That would make you want to take out your axe and have it sharpened.

It seems to me that the $12K phono stage is worth more than the entire stereo save for the integrated amp. It is quite possible the Allnic is highlighting system warts of one form or another.

Throughout the history of audio, there have been numerous examples of over-priced poor sounding gear. Not once, as far as I can remember, has a manufacturer or dealer ever had the guts or the **** to come out and say...we screwed up and this piece is a POS.
Problem today is that as the ever spiraling increases in price of high-end continues, the potential for loss to the consumer grows to ever greater heights. Personally, I am glad to hear from someone like drunkernrabbit telling us of his experiences. ( which I COMPLETELY believe).
BTW, EVEN IF the OP received a BAD or broken sample...as per Lotus's suggestion...this would simply bring into question the manufacturer's quality control ( or lack thereof) and in a product of this expense, that would be inexcusable- IMHO.

So Allnic gear is screwed Up ? LoL
You have a new road Dave. As Wilson exits the metal tweet, you can move on to be Allnic's new web critic...Of course with complete zero allnic experience. Cheers ! :p

I believe Allnic's principal was previously associated with Silvaweld.

Christian, since it would seem that Wilson has began to move away from your beloved metal tweet, I ask you....are they doing this because the new tweeter is inferior? LOL.
I don't have a horse in this race ( although you CLEARLY do:p), BUT reading what MF stated in his review, it would certainly appear that the unit is flawed....unless you believe that MF is
wrong and so for that matter is drunkenrabbit.

I don't know if the one I heard was flawed or not, but I certainly didn't like itl

Well to be fair, I haven't heard the H3000, but I do have the H5000 and compared to my Pass XP-25, I'm getting double the enjoyment like the double mint twins....;)
