Mostly there is a bit of air and resolution missing in the top end when you compare(256kbit) it with a CD. But you don't run scream out of the room because it is so sound so bad.Hard to come to any conclusion![]()
That's how I experience the difference between Spotify and Qobuz on my system. Subtle, but noticeable. The YouTube casting was significantly worse - there must be a better way of doing it, but I'm just going to move on, having no real interest in the subject.Mostly there is a bit of air and resolution missing in the top end when you compare(256kbit) it with a CD. Thanks, it was other tube preamp Raphael audio+ silwaweld 300b amp i call a perfect match for low money under 3k.Agree … However for my part I prefer your Thorens TD124 setup Viz :
Agree in general, can you post a screen shot of the wave form differences, would be interesting to see.You tube videos only sound as good as the quality of the upload. (thanks Captain Obvious)
They sound good enough to listen to in the car or on a set of computer speakers but that's it. Same as any internet stream. I see the differences on the wave form when I digitize music. My $500 Denon cart outperforms everything from the internet. Easily.
That's 3000$ worth of microphones, plugged into a 2000$ preamp a/D converter, going into an iPhone. The iPhone basically only converts the digital signal to store it.
I think it sounds very good from a very up front to the instruments perspective. Clearly recorded in a relatively small space with little to no ambience...just a bit for the piano. The microphone is basically picking up the violin very close and so there is no acoustic ambience or "air" around the instrument...that said, this is very much what the real thing sounds like up close.
