IMPORTANT WARNING ALERT! Audigon, my membership name has been hacked, check yours

It's true on waiting it out. The dac rip off happened 1.5 years ago but $500.00 is to much $$$ to steal without a eAr full. His ex partner Core Audio amp/dac dude might also be there. Nice yes?

Everything he has for sale is $10K. Check his other ads.

Whats also weird is that it says he joined 12/31/1969. Huh?

The scammer or scammers used those same speaker pics with my info and unfortuantely someone did wire money and has loss out. I actually received allot of emails from individuals asking me questions wanting to buy so just goes to show you. Wonder how many have gotten scammed. It's easy to do if you are a newbie or naive, see a unbelievable deal posted by a member who has lots of positive feedback Bla! Blah! even though it's a scam, how would you really know?

That's why Audiogon should be putting up a banner above each advertised page with advertisment blinking so anyone can see, read and advise members to be CAREFUL not to get scamed otherwise they should be held accountable for any loss monies from any of these bad dealings because they are well aware of such.

I just read a thread on this site which someone was looking at buy Kondo listing @ 130K for sale @ 28k. Hello do you smell something? If the deal looks to good to be true and just too low something is usually up but this individual was not what I would call a Newbie asking the question either so go figure!

The 'Gon is powerless and does nothing to help members when scammed! I've been hit 3 times and they did nothing. A big joke thinking they will help out.

Never ever send $$$ by wire/PP as a gift or MO to someone you don't know like your brother. Have your PP tied to your CC. Protect your self! You have no one to blame but yourself! If you pay by PP with CC link and they send you $hit they will take care of you. Why would you PP shipping and then send cash $$$ of 6K. Dumb move. Trust no one not even your mother/ wife.

When I was ripped by the Dac thief I did PP as a gift. Stupid Head.

There are still some BS sellers as well. Check out the Lamm 2.1s for 7600/pair. He wanted bank wire, so I responded to the guy offering to meet him with cash and no response.

I wouldn't meet him with cash unless I had a gun.

just get a 'newsletter' from Audiogon warning of scams, and advising of 'best practices.' Obviously, they are aware of what's going on- what they are doing to mitigate it, other than telling users to use PM and follow the rules, report bogus ads, etc. is not clear.
