When you are typing something you don't have to lift your finger off the keyboard. You can just swipe from letter to letter. It does a really good job figuring out the word.

Cool, it's the first time I've heard of this feature.

* Are there apps that type what you are dictating vocally...voice activated typing?

Edit: I've just checked ...

You can do that for years with the iPhone. There is an icon of a microphone under the keyboard at the right Push it to dictate what you want to type

"Could you type this for me thank you very much. Who needs a keyboard now."

I just did the above using that small mic like you said...very cool.
It’s been there for years.

I’ve just updated my iPad to iOS13 and it suddenly feels like an awkward piece of crap. It opens split screens when I don’t want them and has removed the X to close them. When I look up on the internet how to close close them I get a load of bollocks that doesn’t do what I want but then needs multiple swipes or prods to do other things like open and close windows.

When I started with Apple running iOS on phones, iPads and MacBooks was pretty much the same affair...now they are starting to seriously diversify such that switching devices is becoming a real PITA....I’m constantly having to clean my Macbook screen after failed finger swipes

In the past, whenever I got a new device I’d thoroughly read the manual or book in order to understand how it all works and be able to run it competently. Now the updates are coming so often I simply can’t keep up and I’m slowly starting to struggle to run devices I’ve owned and run for years...I don’t want to spend weeks a year relearning devices I Was completely competent to run.

In this regard I also find asking SIRI is rubbish, given that it just comes up with a load of poorly qualified internet searches.
