When you thought it was safe to come just about anywhere this happens:

Have any of you seen/heard of this, a whole new spin for the vinyl market: https://www.jambase.com/article/vinylly-where-music-sets-the-tone-for-finding-love
And the website for the app: (IOS and Android). Vinyl love does not discriminate.

What if your not into vinyl!

Rob :)

oddly enough if you read their "science-y" messaging behind it all, streaming music plays an ironic role in their matching protocols, so yet again, once more into the breach, vinyl gets co-opted for nefarious/"lotharious" reasons.

Thanks just asking a dumb question have no intention of going beyond this thread. I can see a problem though! Kinda like with Penny walking into the comic book store is the only girl.

Rob :)

Vinylly, a dating app NOT predicated on your vinyl buying habits, but your streaming habits.
What am I missing here?
Then again, I've known some *seriously* un-dateable vinylphile guys (strangely, not women, lol).

Does the website cite any statistical evidence that musical genre compatibility is predictive of relationship success?

Is this new app targeting 70+ year olds?

So now that I don’t listen to my turntable I’m cast out?! Justice for DAC lovers - Flacilly or Wavilly!

younger digital guys will now buy vinyl to impress on these dates. That is one way to motivate the digital guys to shift.

Also the 100k plus turntables might finally be of use in the profile pictures.

And imagine mansplaining recordings and pressings on a first date

I think women will quickly learn to target only those who have the rare exclusive originals. Not interested in narrow band, postage stamp kinda guys

I've been playing records since the 1960's. I've always regarded "vinyl" as records or LP's.

The term "vinyl" seems to be everywhere nowadays.
Vinyl is now offered in terms weight: 180g/200g, like a drug...lol.

The Vinyl dating app seems to be targeted towards those that got into records sometime after 1995 or so...

Just my opinion. ;)

Personally, wayyyy past dating. My wife and I agree on music, but not necessarily the volume of playback. :)

This is an interesting approach for a dating app. I can understand some skepticism, but it is less valid that uploading one's photo? Had a friend at work who told me about the weirdos she met via a dating app. She couldn't understand why the guys chose her. I asked to see her photo. She is very attractive and I had to point out that these guys were looking at the picture and couldn't bother reading any info about her.
