Joe’s Vitus Reference System

Great write-up.
I’ve used Vitus - SIA 25 integrated amp, SP101 phonostage, SCD/2 cd player and more recently the MPd201 Mk3 DAC.
I enjoyed greatly these devises with various loud speakers.
depending on the synergy with the speakers I found the sound a little dark….. but I really enjoyed them.
Finally, I moved to Tidal which as been a revelation in my system - I recently changed my MP201 DAC for a tidal Contros which I prefer.
We are lucky to have such choices - enjoy your wonderful system….Simon

That‘s sounds like a wonderful system that you own. I may change speakers at a later time as well. Poss ly something in the Marten Coltrane series. Lots of listening to do.

Marten and Vitus are a super match…. Coltrane are my favorite, but too big for my room, never mind the $$…..

We continue to receive the blackest backgrounds and the best soundstage we’ve ever heard. Thanks to Vitus this is tremendous sound!

Beautiful system. I love the all black appearance.

Marten and Vitus work well together. I used to drive Coltrane 2s with Vitus.

Trivia....Hans Ole Vitus has sold the company to an investment group. He does still stay on and is involved in R&D

Hans Ole has sold half of his company share to his son (who is the CEO now) and a long time employee. He still owns half of the company.

We added the Vitus Masterpiece MP-P201 Phono Stage Mk III to our system today. Still breaking in, but it sounds amazing!

How does one describe the indescribable?

We have been searching for “our” end game system. That is “the” superior system that gives us a true sense of live sound in our living space. We’ve come extremely close with some other audio systems - really close! But while we were satisfied the search still continued for “the” abso

There’s no going back after owning Vitus!
I attended the HiFi News Ascot Show this weekend and although it is not an ideal venue I was glad I went.
The highlight of the show for me was the new Monitor Audio loudspeaker paired with the latest top of the range Vitus and Entreq gear notably thethe MP 202 preamp, the SM 103 Mk2 amps, full Entreq Triton loom, Entreq Pluton and a pair of 10Ts behind the amps. The amps were finished in a very good looking dark blue.
The system sounded superb. Very open and transparent, not even the slightest hint of harshness and a complete absence of unwanted noise with the trademark Vitus liquid flowing sound at its considerable best. The speakers were clearly faithfully transmitting the signals they were receiving.
A much more knowlegeable friend who heard the system separately commented on how the sound mirrored that of planar speakers.

Why would you change from the m3? I recall your acquisition of it, why move to a marten?
