Lampizator Valve / Tube Rolling Review Thread

Thanks for the info. Spoke to the dealer here in the Philippines and i decided to upgrade the GG2’s to the engine 11 and just pay for the added shipping cost to Poland. Im sure it will be worth it anyway. Cant wait to set it up!

Which 11?

While I've found how tubes sound is contextual, taking your Cossor 53KU suggestion at face value, as I mentioned earlier a search online found the seller in Verona, whose prices, quality and customer service have been called into question on WBF, seems to have a lock on the market. I know I'm not using anything I bought from him re sonic quality -- and altogether it was a lot of money.

In the meantime, the good news was that at 250 hours with the stock fuse, the tonality was great, other aspects aside. The redone Talking Heads movie (file) never sounded more engaging. Work in
I tried to roll the QSA silver back to the stock fuse, the pros is more low end and dynamic and more meaty for piano or vocal, but it makes the PAC2 sounds like a downgraded device which lost lots of micro details, sound stage collapsed and lost the 3 dimensional and holographic image, I played for an hour then roll it back to silver fuse and everything opened up again and sounds very very neutral and coherent, listened to Eric cClapton lady in the balcony and feel like I’m listening to his live performance, I won’t remove my silver form the PAC2 and give more patience for the tubes to run in, spent 100 hours on PT35+ RGN2004 and it sounds much smoother now, right now the weakest link is the low end and prefer more meaty, hopefully the bass will enhance after 300 hours mark and then I can stay with this setup for a long time

Did the OEM get full run in? They are no different than anything else. I would think the Silver would be as you describe. Wish I had one. The red-black was in that direction to, but not quite as alive as the OEM —maybe that’s the latter’s relative lack of refinement — but tonality is my starting point. I’ve planning to give the QSA another shot. And the Vera-Fi’s Snubway is in today’s mail.

That’s the stock fuse I used from day 1 before I switch to qsa silver for at least a few months, fully understand your point and tone is very important, thats why I changed rgn 2004 to Cossor 53ku after the former passed 100 hours mark but failed to deliver sounds too thin in my system

Tired a few rectifiers and funny result
1. Gz480 which was one of my favourite to pair with RK2424 on more hi res and modern side, sounds not as refine as both 53ku or rgn2004 but its very balanced and sounds like a decent solid state style

2. Westinghouse vu71 really a good bargain which sounds similar as 53ku, although not as quiet, less sweetness ans also a smaller sound stage, but the price performance is extremely high which I got a pair at 150 usd only, very decent vintage sound and always good to use as backup tubes

Will try philips GZ34 metal, acme 274b, rk5u4g again tonight but sounds like those warmer tubes perform better in my system now

IMG_5435.jpegIMG_5632.jpegIMG_5449.jpegimage.jpgIMG_5632.jpeghey everyone, thought I’d introduce myself. But first, I’d like to thank Powerman For supplying me with his Baltic 4 last October. I have a Modwright Bdp 105d that I’ve used as a dac/player transport for many years and in those many years, I have acquired many outstanding Tubes. I have other tube gear as well. some Tubes waiting in the wings for an audition. For instance, the BL63. they worked really well in my Oppo. Big tube, big sound. equal to the B65 sonically in most respects. Anybody out here know of this tube? and have some experience with it perhaps? it’s very engaging musical tube. I’ve already secured my stash. I got mine from Langrex About five years ago. $220 a pair. FYI, I talked to Yoda and he said they were good to go. I’ve really appreciated all your info everyone over the years. Thank you.IMG_5435.jpeg

It looks like our favourite Chinese ebay adapter maker xulingmrs is no more! Anyone got a good substitute adapter source?

What happened?? If you should know...Just no longer on Ebay?

I've used him a number of times. When I go on Ebay purchase history, then I go to pull him up, no go...No information...They may have found out how much money he was making? Who knows what occurs in that country in these matters...

After about a year, purchased item sites disappear. My two from last July are there. Why don't you try messaging him?

Have you ever attempted to communicate with him? I think his wife does that part, lets say its an interesting adventure...After some time I was speaking Mandarin! !t actually became quite comical. Don't really need anything from him, I'll shoot him a are you still in business message...

Yes tried messaging and nothing. Items that were listed ended on May 19....

Same with me..

This is probably as good a place as anywhere to post this. If anyone is going to the Pacific Audio Fest in Seattle this weekend and happens to see a tall, older guy with grey hair and black rim glass wandering (or sitting) around, please say hello.

Thoriated tungsten filaments seem to be the best emitters available in 2024 and for the past a very long time because they are better than standard wire filaments the application we are interested in.
