Lampizator Valve / Tube Rolling Review Thread

Thanks for your feedback.
Some more data points.
Your first Non VC unit has the inside gain switch.
The newest Non VC units obviously have the front center bottom button to toggle the gain which is a great evolution and a top feature compared to once set an forget inside gain switch before
Most all non vol have gain sws inside , but for me high is ok but low is too low
the gain cut is too many db it hurt dynamics for me. But this varies greatly per setup

No , I have PX25 and one pair 300’s just deciding if I want to buy another pair of 300’s
Keep the PX25 and get maybe a pair of RK 242
I don't fancy 300b in the Lampi DACs

Not even if they are WE 300Bs from the 40s-60s? :D
I think I would sell them as long as the "clientel" for those are still alive and willing to pay those moon prices

I agree. I would like to hear them but I am not willing to spend $3-$4k.
"only" 3-4k?
I thought they were WAYYYY more expensive

No the remote has the turn off feature too. I think the button was an add on to keep output tubes warm with digital board too. Only recti turns off
now on remote all turns off. It’s my guess
With my Pacific the remote and the front bottom button both go to standby without any tube being heated

I’m running KR AUDIO RK PX25 now I’m hoping to improve , not bad . I lost a lot of midrange compared to my K01 XD or X1 . But it sure tamed down my focals

In this case, maybe the Takatsuki 300b might be for you
But IMHO only in combination with the Takatsuki 274b rectifier :D
This is a really magical combination

Ok let me confuse you a bit more - if you miss mids try 12/112a tubes and you won’t break the bank or EML Globe 45 anniversary (only available directly from Lampi guys)...
As Chris said Taka 300b is the option as well

Picking up my Big Bastardo Dominatrixator 7 DAC Convolution 4 from original Lampi spec tomorrow.

So maybe that's really a level 7 + 4 = 11.

Expect some rants soonish. I am really curious to see the extent of voltage control for the 6 position heater switch i.e. for each basic switch position, what is the extent of available voltage control? It may allow use of new, fab tubes/valves hitherto unusable. Then again, it may not. We shall see.

No time to play just yet it's too nice a day.

More later.

Tesla RD27AS. Bang on 4V.

The now external Rod Coleman voltage trimming pots are super fine. I can literally tune in 0.01 volt steps.

Amazed. Super precise. And it holds steady.

So if you look at the top, you can see the holes for the multimeter probes. You just drop 'em in and twiddle the pots until you get the right voltage.

This is a feeling I have been longing for for ages. Knowing it's right is great.

Pacific MK2. Do this but with a nice display.

Let me live with it for a while but this does seem to be a much better result for the RDs. FE 5R4GY in with them.

The Russian recti match for 6C4C either needs more hours or is junk. Westinghouse VU71 eats it alive with 6C4C. But the FE 5R4GY is fine from the start. Kind of a bigger 5Z4GY I liked a while back. Also an FE.

Anyway HNY Goran!!!!

New USB still needs assessing running coax at the mo.

Also, I will under run the RD filaments to see what the effect is i.e. does it make them sound like they used to. 3V IIRC.
