The fact that you call it an "opinion" shows a disturbing lack of conviction :p
True.

I will compensate by putting £250K into longing Bitcoin with 100X leverage on ByBit:D

Whilst that shows true conviction, it'll make me a convict when I lose and can't pay up.

Sod it. Gotta take some risks in life;)

Norman you missed the point. The £800+ tube in the eBay link is an FE Oldway.

Given there appears to be no difference in the Footscray versus Oldway, I wonder whether the grids and filaments are in some way different.

Goran I agree it's not the same. But STC is Brimar. As a quick example see this 5Z4GY add.

Oh, missed that. price is ridiculous then.

Thoughts on KR 300’s vs KR PX25 in Pacific?

The KR PX25 imho, by far ;)
Can you only chose from those two?

A friend of mine uses T100 in his Pacific. Supposedly that is the Holy Grail to go for.
In my GG2 I prefer KR242 over PX25 big time.
Another friend of mine uses FullMusic PX25 with great results in his GG1. In his case EML45 is also a great choice and alternative to PX25.

In my ex-GG1.9 the T100 did not sound as good as my beloved KR 242

And from memory, the T100 did also not sound as good as the KR 242 and KR PX25 in the demo Pacific I once had at home.

Maybe I should give the mighty T100 another try in my own Pacific :D

Not even if they are WE 300Bs from the 40s-60s? :D
Hm...guess no...way toooooo much $$$$$ for a pair of tubes (in my view):p
PS I’m in the opposite game now - more for much less;)

I agree. I would like to hear them but I am not willing to spend $3-$4k.

Looks like we have a pattern here.
But that also means that Will needs the VC version to be able to switch the Pacific on and off via the front button or even more comfortable via the remote control.
I would chose the VC version anyways. Gives you so much flexibility with tubes
No the remote has the turn off feature too. I think the button was an add on to keep output tubes warm with digital board too. Only recti turns off
now on remote all turns off. It’s my guess
