This week we lost power four times at home. It was out as much as 10 hours at a time. I talked to the power technicians, and they didn't know the issue, but they replaced the closest two transformers and a lot of supply wires to my home. They said they were very old. The result: my audio system sounds squeaky clean!
I have several serious stages of power conditioning including an isolation transformer. Regardless of that: treble has more sparkle and extension, midrange is more open, the soundstage is deeper and wider, the bass is much tighter and stronger, and there is increased resolution and detail.
