“ I was struck by the naturalness and ease of reproduction of musical material that simply hovers in the space in front of you. Without any hesitation, Aries Cerat was for me the most impressive sound at this year's HIGH END show in Munich.”
Yes the bass has a different character, but the small one is not meant to be an all out solution. It is an extremely good speaker for its size, given that the rooms it goes into will not be able to house an all out speaker anyway.

Yes, I heard the smaller version (same as in your picture) at the Klangschloss here in Switzerland in April driven by darTZeel. I think they were driving it too hard there because it got weirdly shouty with some frequencies like the bending wave driver was getting chaotic in motion or something. I heard the same bass integration problem there as well though. It is an active bass and the texture and damping is totally different from the rest of the speaker.
I stayed about 3 songs in the Audionec room , not my cup of tee.
My favourite speakers in Munchen were Kharma and Rockport /Lyra plus the Kroma ls .
The FM acoustics design i could only judge as a system but its also in my top 4.
The wilson benesch sounded very good at what they did but i heard some bass issues at a few occasions .
My exposure was too brief to put a finger on what was the cause
