thank you for showing the Phasemation / Wolf von Langa room, which I liked a lot.
WvL had similar speakers in the next room powered with Air Tight Amplifiers,
rare chance for me to compare both Japanese brands. Air Tight was a little bit more on the detail loving site, Phasemation more full body / warmer site, both set ups for a similar budget.

The Phasemation PP-2000 cartridge was one of the favorite carts of the show, I was able to identify it in some other demo as well, like in the OMA reference turntable.

As Munich was the first European fair for the 2 Japanese gentleman from Phasemation, I used the chance to spent some time talking to them about their Step Up transformer designs and why they prefer the shown passive Pre Amp.

I very much agree about this. Both these rooms were among the very best in my opinion.

I am not sure whether this is more of a consideration on the quality of the recording than the horns themselves , however I am finding the Vivaldi coming over slightly coloured and a tad ‘cuppy’ .

 

When I heard the Admire Horn Loudspeaker, I was disappointed, there was no coherence in the sound. (Perhaps Bass was too slow?)
I know, show condition and so on. Perhaps in another setting I would enjoy the speakers.

It was not, shall we say, colouration free…. They had another speaker outside the room with a smaller, perhaps rectangular Tractrix, horn and woofer box that I would have very much liked to have heard.

I too had issues with the “lazy” bass. Not much impact, which suggests time delay issues, which is why it did not rate in my top systems.

I requested to play a live track from Fink. Immediately the amp went into clipping and they had to reduce the volume. The PRAT and slam was not to my liking. OTOH, with the "right" music the sound was mesmerizing.

For those who didnt know AM belgium is apparently one of largest magnetic tapehead manufacturers in the world .
The sales person said they can repair and make custom heads too.

This speaker could have benefited from some bigger bass drivers...to me the mid bass was punchy but it sounds like it rolled off quickly...otherwise I like the linesource concept a lot.
