I pulled the trigger for this 12 Telefuken ECC82 5 mins ago.

i will use them in Margules pre which use 4 ECC82.

Amperex ECC82 sounds warm and balanced.

RCA 12bh7 sounds robust.

Maybe Telefuken ECC82 may sounds lively and crisp like Telefuken ECC83.

I will find out next week.

Hi Adrian

Would love to see the b759s in your collection, thanks for sharing with us all the beautiful pictures of your tubes:):)
Did listen to these B759 in my friends set up and was offer 4 of these during my stay in Hong Kong in 1976 but found them poor value for money. I'm getting jealous of yours  '

Wow were they expensive even back in 1976? Yes tubes are hardly good value for money nowadays:) it's old tech but wow do they sound good compared to new.

mixed

I chose 4 out of 12 tubes.

Telefuken ECC82 is really musical with nice timber and wide and deep soundstage although it falls of bass impact compared with RCA 12bh7

To compensate the deep bass, I volumed up the subwoofer output which goes 56hz down.

Ok, don't mix in channel L-R,only per amplification stages sounds really diffrent smooth or ribbed.

A smooth plate sounds more organic (phantastic midrange)not so tight clean as a ribbed plate

Thanks for your suggestion.

I am quite happy with Margules pre amp that I bought after listeing to it at Pacific Audiofest,

Telefuken ECC82 and Amperex 6922 tubes are being used in it now.

But I am also tempted to try the below exquisite looking pre amp. ;)
