Natural Sound

Hello and good evening to you, gentlemen.

I would like to remind you that part of the TOS of being a member of this forum is to talk about the thread subject. It is quite obvious that we are now off of that topic.

We do not discuss politics and posts should remain about the thread topic, not about personal commentary about other members.

We are better than that.

If you want to continue talking about "Natural Sound", then by all means? Do so. With that said, any more commentary about personal grievances against other members of this forum will be deleted and administrative action will be taken.

I would like to remind you that this is not your playground to post what you want. Being a member here is a privilege and not a right.

Post accordingly.

Tom

I do have to inform you that the admin team does not delete posts made by fellow members, simply because of a thread authors request. We never have, we never will.

Any further off topic posts on this thread will be deleted. All we are asking for is that members adhere to the terms of service of this forum.....and perhaps be friendly toward one another, even to those with differing views.

This is after all, just a hobby we all share an interest in.

The final thing that got your tribe leader banned

David was never banned. The moderator team suspended him for three days over a weekend, and then David was welcomed back. He chose, entirely of his own volition, not to return.

That both Peter and Tang have had breakdowns, just solidifies my preference for good SS, i just don't want to have all the hassle with tubes.

Many SET amps are too easy to fix, point to point wiring and and local techie can fix them.

adyc, what is the purpose of posting this on my system thread? Tang is no longer a member here. He is perfectly capable of contacting Lamm or his dealer for service. He cannot join in the discussion and this has nothing to do with the subject of my system.

If I read about some needed service on a VYGER turntable on some forum or chat site, should I go and post that information on the VYGER thread here and ask Argo and Bonzo about the new version and if they fixed those problems? Should I share what a dealer told me about those turntables?

Tubes have a lifespan and can be replaced. The tube socket repair is inconvenient. The Neumann cartridge breaking is a tragedy. I’m sorry to read about all.

The point is I am never going to think that gear I like makes all rooms it is in sound the best, especially in a condition where set up is not complete, and/or it is not working. This whole thread unravelled this way because I challenged your opinion on calling those videos the best, and Tim took that as a cue to jump in firing rounds at all people who had even liked a post against his wishes, making it about everything else.

You are being mistaken. My point of showing the comment is that he said he is in audio dry land and he has not turned on his system since April. I am very surprised about this. Since you said his videos of new speakers are some of the best, why would he not turn on the system for more than 6 months especially he took delivery of the new speakers recently. It is just a way to show that Ked may be right in his posts about the subwoofers are not integrated properly. It is not my business whether he chooses to repair his amps or not.

The problem child 6c33 tube you often have working current drift if this tube is not thermally pretreated. It's not a tube that you just plug in and everything is fine. Always make sure the contact pins and tube socket are clean. then she runs stable.

I do nothing with my Ayon Spark mkI, which is quite old now, and works fine. Takes about 30 min for tubes to settle into the right bias but that’s about it.

Your second hand dealer I take it ? Please go ahead , lets hear what he has to say about a competitor manufacturer!

Sounds like a properly designed and implemented 6c33 amplifier then Brad … nice.

Maril555, who owned the ML2, said that this is a common problem with the sockets rectified by using Nos johnson sockets

Past tense Kedar ?

he has nothing sonically against them, he is trying different amps such as Jeff Day's Mcintosh mods, NAF 845SE, Mayer's lower model push pula 6cb5a. Just thought I would pass on his recommendation of using the NOS Johnson for owners of the 6c33 including the Ml2 owners.

I say from experience with this tube, I do the following. I plug in the tube and observe the quiescent current for an hour if it doesn't run stable. Put the tubes in the oven at 150 degrees Celsius for 4 hours and then let them cool down. then reinsert and measure. Most of the time, 6 out of 10 tubes are usable for continuous use of 3000-5000 hours. the best 6c33 are wingend"c" before 1970 from leningrad.
It can be lucky like you, but you can also be unlucky and the joy of listening to music is gone.6c33c_svetlana_01_xl.jpg

Actually we do not know why Tang is not listening to his system. You and Bonzo are guessing it is amplifier integration. Bonzo keeps talking about set up but not about my point that the ML2 can drive the subs. I said his videos are some of the best I’ve heard based on hearing his speakers at David’s set up with subs via video. And they sound better in the bass than the Cessaro at his office to me. My opinion. We still do not know why he deleted his videos. He did post them too. It makes no sense he would delete them for sound quality after posting them. He did leave WBF and he can control his YouTube content. That we know.

sorry I never said he is not listening because of that.

i said he was trying to dial his subs in correctly and marked his videos accordingly.

apart from that he was not listening when the amps were not working, as he has posted himself in the YT comment highlighted by adyc.

my point is when someone is trying to dial in a component, and his videos do sound off how can one assess these are the best? It is easy to hear they are not. To say otherwise it’s just to cheerlead own product and not really report on listening, much like the analogy I gave of other owners who go to a hifi show and claim every room their component is in is sounding great

Sorry. I only say subwoofer integration and not amplifier integration. To be honest, I do not know what brand his subwoofers are. Subwoofer integration are not just about amplifier. It is more about placement, crossover point, slope and phase etc. And these parameters are definitely room dependent. I doubt he has experience of doing that alone. So Ked’s speculation is well justified in my opinion. One can easily got frustrated and lost in this subwoofer integration exercise.

Is it known where Tango obtained these now “Broken” Lamm electronics ? from the tone of his YT post he seems Far from happy with his system and appears to have lost faith with it.
