New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

all is not well in LaLa Land.....Tonight they take on Ja Morant and the Grizzlies who held on last night to defeat an energized Paul George and the Clipps. Gotta hope Westbrook has a better game. His shooting is so erratic, I cringe when he has the ball

Dwight Howard: 'No issues' with Anthony Davis after scuffle
As the Lakers' big men downplay their dust-up, are there bigger concerns for Los Angeles?

I thought I heard Dwight said that he loves Davis and he's like his brother and he looks after his brother. . .

And it's a good thing none of them called each other b*tch as in the case of Green and Durant.

there is no doubt in my mind that the Lakers since the start of preseason and being winless at 0-8 and with their new found star at $45M per year is floundering compounded by injuries their is a feeling of consternation by the players and feelings are bubbling over.
How does the saying go, "you can't make a silk purse out of a hog's cheek"

Phil

I have a feeling this year will be filled with more surprises than last year
I think so too. Very good young players are hungry to show their wares. Like that new Memphis youngster who hit a dagger 3 near the end of the game. We might even be surprised at the news about Kyrie and Simmons.

I think Simmons willl cave before Kyrie
Kyrie marches to the beat of a different drum. He hears sounds in his brain and he does the war dance and sprinkles incense along the sidelines before the games so I truly believe he will sit the entire year which would be sad because in their loss to the Bucks I felt he was sorely missed. When the trio are healthy and playing they are unbeatable

Gotta love the Bulls 3-0 start as they defeat the Pistons last night
They’re a really fun team to watch who unlike so many look like they’re having fun out there too. Caruso and Ball lead them on defense, they run (well) at every opportunity steals/Vukevic rebounds, and if LaVine cools off, DeRozan gets points if they need it. No egos whatsoever. Let’s see how they do against better teams.

Pacers/Heat was a good game last night, Pacers got a win they needed. Carlisle has to be happy to be away from the crap that was going on in Dallas — looks to have a gutsy team w/no nonsense. No go to scorer maybe, but Turner/Sabonis upfront and Brogdon/Duarte looks solid. Getting LaVert back will help a lot.

Nets lose to the Hornets with Miles Bridges burning them for 32 points. Hornets are now 3-0.

Saw the Celtics Rockets game and utterly amazed by this rookie Jaylen Green. No.2 overall pick this year and boy is he cocky and flashy and he can shoot from way out and dunk with his head at rim level. Move over, Jaylen Brown. :D Celtics finally win one game.

Lakers play a solid :4th period and for the first time in 9 games they thought they found a way to win
six Lakers in double figures

Carmelo was dropping 3’s all night and overtakes Moses Malone for 9 slot in all time scoring

Final. Lakers 121-118 as Ja misses the 3rd of a 3 shot free throw which could have tied the game

Ja Morant makes shots that are poster pictures. A real super star but Carmelo stole the show

Rockets' No. 2 overall pick is impressive. Unlike other young super guards, he is very tall at 6'6". So he can fly and slam and make outside shows. He's going to be scary good. And trivia time, he has Philippine roots.

"Green’s mother Bree Purganan hails from Ilocos Sur and his maternal grandfather is a full-blooded Filipino."

He even visited and played in the Philippines in 2018.

"Born and raised in the US, Green’s first visit to the Philippines was during the 2018 NBTC tournament, where he played for the FilAm Sports USA team.
In the National Finals of that tournament, Green erupted for 51 points in a 98-92 loss to the National University Bullpups at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Green returned to the Philippines a year later and suited up for the same squad in the 2019 NBTC tournament, where he once again put on a highlight reel against the best high school teams in the country."
