IMO the best trade the Lakers made for this Over The Hill Gang was Carmelo Anthony who IMO has played well and has helped win several games. He's getting old but his shooting accuracy remains very good
Inside Carmelo Anthony's 19-year scoring evolution: 'I'm still here doing it'
The 19-year veteran went from the top scoring option in Denver and New York to eventually adapting his game as a complementary player off the bench in Los Angeles.
In this era of swift ball passing in a triangle, with corners emphasized, the Lakers' age will take its toll. But ironically, the spread out swing passes offense was what LeBron thrived in Miami and Cleveland, with his 3 pt snipers spread out. It works on both ends.
In a simplistic thought, If AD and Westbrook scores 60 points and Melo does 20, that will be their formula to win. But they need to hold the Knicks on defense too.
The Knicks have an awesome bench in that $30m Kemba Walker is hardly seen on the court, as with RJ Barrett as they have this young kid Quickley, Toppin and Burkes doing so well off the bench, and D Rose is not even playing due to injury.
