IMO the best trade the Lakers made for this Over The Hill Gang was Carmelo Anthony who IMO has played well and has helped win several games. He's getting old but his shooting accuracy remains very good

In this era of swift ball passing in a triangle, with corners emphasized, the Lakers' age will take its toll. But ironically, the spread out swing passes offense was what LeBron thrived in Miami and Cleveland, with his 3 pt snipers spread out. It works on both ends.
