New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

For once, Perkins is on track.

nothing will convince me that Westbrook is an asset to the Lakers

Kendrick also said the same Lakers team was going to win 70 games

The biggest news for me remains the Memphis team who with 11 wins has the longest team winning streak in their franchise history.

Memphis is now in 3rd having overtaken Utah and suddenly the GSW are not looking like they did before the return of Klay

Similarly the Nets have been a sub 500 team since Kyrie started playing away games and that seems to be when they lose

Meanwhile the Bucks and Giannis are playing like champion.

Bulls remain in first but they have makeup games to play which were postponed

I think both conferences now are about as exciting as I have ever seen

Ben Simmons timeline: All of the major happenings with the Philadelphia 76ers star in 2021-2022

No one wants him it seems and the Sixers don't want Westbrook for Simmons. Meanwhile the Sixers are making a push up while the Lakers are mired in the play in standings and will be lucky to finish higher

For me right now the best teams East and West are the Bucks and the Grizzlies

Let the second half of the season begin

Looks like the Clippers may be preparing to take a "gap year" approach to this season and prepare for better things next year. With Kawhi out and now Paul George, too, it looks like that might be the best approach. Ballmer apparently has signed off on this plan.

Interesting article in Bleacher Report speculates on this and mentions the Warriors strategy last year as the model. Golden State took it on the chin last season but have emerged much stronger this season.

That means the Clippers may be more active at the trade deadline with a plan to get younger and shed salary to position for next season.

Sounds like a good plan to me - not much hope for this season with all of the injuries.

IMO that's a smart move. I wish the Lakers would do the same. The league now is a combination of youth, speed, accuracy, 3 point shooter and a few bigs who know how to play defense.

Even if Lakers and/or Clippers were to emerge from the play in round it's safe to say neither team is going to beat any of the top 4 in the WC. Enough of LeBron and his dictating. So they won a rind=g 2 years ago but they have given away the farm to satisfy his desire to dictate who plays around him. IIRC it was James who confirmed his desire to have Westbrook over the young and accurate 3 point shooter who plays for the Kings

Iggy IMO is still one heck of a player. Age has slowed him a bit but I would take him over many of the Lakers

I say this watching him make a 3 pointer and then fouled for a 4 point shot

End of 1st

GSW 37-28

I'm surprised Memphis lost to the Mavs last night but having said that the Grizz are in 3rd place in the WC and only one win behind the GSW and 2 wins behind the Suns.

Also the Heat are again on the move and are looking every bit as good as the Bucks. Are we starting to see the sizzle go out of the Bulls. I sense the standings in the East are going to be in a state for flux and changing constantly

I worried about the Warriors when they were beaten badly 2 games in a row however their dominance over the Bulls last night was very impressive

and Lakers just got thumped by the Nuggs last night that was absolutely humiliating. Another 3 game losing streak and suddenly they are a sub .500 team and IMO they are even lucky to be where they are in the standings

Do what the Clippers are doing, and throw in the towel and rest your stars and play the young and upcoming players for experience

Westbrook last night couldn't make a shot until past the halfway mark of the game. He even went nose to nose with one of the Nuggs who must have been a foot taller than him . Double technicals and the return of the scowl.

it was with Gordon after a body check..

I usually watch their game till the end even if they‘re losing.. last night I didn’t… folding the laundry was more fun, or less painful.

I turned it off in the 3rd period. Painful wasn't the word for it. It exposed the Lakers for the team they aren't but still think they can be. Rebuilding is not going to be easy as I am wonder if they gave up future draft choices not only when they got AD for their entire young hopefuls but so also when they acquired Westbrook. The future of LaLa Land is not looking good. The only decent young players they have are THT and Malik Monk
