New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Celtics lose to Knicks on just second 2 missed foul shots by Brown. Knicks$is quite strong and I'm suprised they have an average win loss record.

Interesting stat today. With Celts on a 3 game losing streak but still having best record in NBA, they are now only 1/2 game ahead of Denver
I noticed that all 2 losses of the C's are without Smart. The guy is their leader and is needed down the stretch in close games specially. But the last loss to the Knicks is clearly due to Brown's missed 2 free throws, they would have won by 1. :D

Red hot Memphis has gone ice cold and are on a 5 game losing streak so they are the latest of the top tier teams to be losing

Doncic with a sprained ankle is out tonight and day by day

The Warriors are now winning a few and the Suns are losing again and the two teams have been mired in the play in status but the WC is so close that standings are changing daily

Embiid has overtaken Tatum in the Kia MVP ladder at the 2 slot with Jokic running away with it

With the Lakers vs Celtics today, the Lakers are always great to play against to restore their confidence as Lakers are mere fodder for the rest of the league, so here is a great morning read.....

The intertwined legacies of LeBron James and the Boston Celtics

I feel like I'm always negative about the Lakers and even I'm entering an optimistic stage.

..... well at least until AD goes down again.

You know I’m a die hard Lakers fan who has been turned off by the direction this perennial favorite to win it all team has gone. They have given up their entire next generation Lakers to pander to a person who is soon to get global TV coverage when he breaks Kareem’s scoring record. I could care less. To me Kareem coming from the Bucks to the Lakers was a better acquisition than LeBron coming from Cleveland . How many rings does LeBron have and how many does Kareem have. Kareem never made demands of management to trade for players he wanted by his side. IMHO there is no comparison. Kareem was always the silent and humble great player that he was. The game is what counts. I’d be shocked if Lakers win but Celt’s have lost recently to much lesser teams. I’m more than anything happy for Phil because in all the years this thread has gone on Phil has been a steadfast Celtics fan.

Thanks Steve. I will feel exactly the same way as you, had the supposed most powerful man in the league joined the Celtics. I heard he's a Celtics buster so that's a good thing as he'll never join the Celtics despite wearing the number 6 which is retired across the league. I should believe he'll want to have Silver the second most powerful man retire his number too but wait, which is his number? 23 or 6? And what is his team identity? Lol. I agree with what you said about Kareem. Easily a candidate for GOAT talk in my books. I believe his record should not be smeared by an individualistic opportunist like LeBron. It's a shame that it will be happening.

Sixers at home and Embiid with 46 points beat the visiting Nuggets. The Sixers are surging now. It’s impossible to predict in a 7 game series as right now everyone is beating everyone else

I just checked that Lebron needs 158 points to beat Kareem. It's safe to say he won't be rubbing it in in the Garden floor tonight. Even if he beats Wilt's 100 points by telling Ham to have him shoot the entire game, he still won't get his much self coveted record in Boston. :D

The Lakers played well as they were tied at 81 end of 3rd and gain a 7 point lead in the 4th only to lose it and game tied at the end of regulation

Bad call by the ref at the end of regulation
with a missed call on LeBron which could have won it for the Lakers

In the end Tatum and the better Celtics easily took control and finished out the Lakers 125 -121

Good game nonetheless Phil

The Celts never let themselves panic when they were behind. lass team Phil

I had to watch bits and pieces on the phone and saw Brown took control of$the OT period. I'm happy to see the Celtics win over LeBron.

Patrick Beverley played big time today. Never thought he could have those 3s and sky dunks. But that action of showing the ref a camera footage got him a T. :D

I should note that LeBron's antics after the no call was a bit over dramatic, like it was game 7 of the Finals? :D An assistant has to tap him to let him stand up after kneeling down in 'pain' for many seconds. He wanted to beat the Celtics that bad apparently. And his coach sort of patted his ego by saying that the greatest player in the planet can't get a call. Well, there are hundreds of players in the league who cannot get a call either on any given night. A call is not supposed to be made on WHO you are, as per my understanding since I played and watched the game in my youth.

that bit of histrionics by Le Bron was over the top. He should have gotten a T but it was indeed a missed call. Even funnier was Beverly taking a camera onto the court to show the reply to the ref. He did get a T for the one.

But as I said Phil, playing the Lakers when a team has been on a losing run is enough to restore any team's confidence
