Looking at the WC standings the 7-10 spots are occupied by some of the best teams in the WC. There will be surprises this year in both conferences. Sixers seem to have the hot hand now and are breathing down the backs of the Celtics
so what's new....the good ship lollipop keeps on rolling...AD IMO has great skills but as a big, his body is wearing down as the Lakers ship is sinking rapidly
LeBron James, Anthony Davis out Monday vs. Nets
James, who is just 117 points from passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the NBA's all-time scoring leader, is dealing with left ankle soreness
we all know the outcome of the game and no crying over spilled milk but that missed call did cost the Lakers the win IMHO over the Celts. It was the luck of the Irish
Referees’ union says LeBron James was fouled on controversial play
The National Basketball Referees Association said Sunday that LeBron James was fouled with the game tied on his final drive of regulation in Boston.
The biggest disappointment so far has been the rapid rise and the tumultuous fall of the Pelicans who just a few week ago were in the top spot but after an 8 game losing streak they are tied with the Suns for the 8th spot in WC. This has been a roller coaster ride for just about every WC team except the Nuggs who remain solid and the Lakers who love it in the bottom tier and out of contention. I think they took Le Born out tonight to be certain he breaks the all time scoring record at home in Los Angeles where the entire world will be watching

It's safe to say all Celtics fans saw the foul on replay but the refs didn't see it on real time play. And how many times had I said the NBA needed a 4th referee and now a laser beam to beep when contact is made. There has been countless of non calls which the NBA admitted as errors of the referees but did not and would not change the outcome, even if it meant reversing the winner of the game. There's no justice in this game.
At Brooklyn and end of the half the Lakers put up nothing but bricks and no AD or LeBron as they have their lowest 1st quarter and lowest half for the year.
Lakers go down by as much as 19 and storm back in the 3rd to take a 7 point lead only to have the Nets regain the lead in the 4 th and easily defeat the Lakers 121-104 who are now 5 games under .500
I admired LeBron in Cleveland, found his diva act in Miami nauseating, and--as a Laker fan going back to Chamberlain and West--have tried to warm up to him as a Laker with mixed results. The bubble championship was nice, but not entirely satisfying. I will say this, though. No one else ever has performed anywhere near this level at his age. Kareem was a role player at the same age. Kobe only made it to 37, and was siginficantly diminished by then. Can you guys think of anyone else?
It is still pretty incredible to watch LeBron, even though the team is so obviously flawed. Still, if Davis can stay healthy and they get just a little perimeter shooting from the supporting cast, they might just be a problem for someone in the playoffs. I wouldn't put it past him to lead them on a little run.
I can’t cozy up to him at all. To me he has destroyed the image of everything I have come to love as a Lakers fan for 50 years I do agree about his abilities athletically but come on global TV coverage for when he breaks Kareem’s record which should be next week

But he's always gotten this kind of attention. Even his high school games were broadcast on ESPN. Breaking the all-time scoring record is nothing to sneeze at, and let's face it, he may well keep doing this another few years ala Tom Brady. He's also not the first Laker with diva tendencies. Both Magic and Kobe had their moments as well.
What has happened to the Pelicans. Zion returned healthy and the Pels were the Cinderella team of the WC as they were in the top 3 for a while and after a 9 game losing streak they are buried in the 10spot.
Clipps seem to be silently gaining momentum in the WC
Things are so tight in the WC as 4.5 games separate the 3rd from the 12th position so anything is possible
