New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Clippers beat the Mavs tonight. Almost gave the game away but had enough to win it in the end.

Clipper fans were irritated when Elton Brand signed with the 76ers. He's with the Mavs now and age an injuries have not been kind to him. Loved him when he was on the Clippers for 7 years. He, Sam Casell and Cutino Mobley were the heart of the 2005/06 Clipper playoff team.

76ers paid him big money and noticed today on Hoopshype that he is making $19,000,00 this year - mostly still paid by Philadelphia after he was amnestied. Glad the Clippers aren't saddled with that contract.

Also glad to see Sullinger is doing well in his rookie year with the Celtics. Many doubted him going into the draft but he played well for Ohio State and he is a a great kid.

A big game tonight for Jeff Green, who exactly 1 year ago underwent a life-threatening open heart surgery. He's been compared to James Worthy in some of his open lane dunk moves, and here, he shows a James Worthy type dunk that I used to see in the 80s.

I can't help but notice Odom in the court during the last minute with the game still up for grabs. Shows the trust Del Negro gives him and that should boost Odom's confidence. After all he was the best 6th man in a championship team only a few years ago.

And yeah, Sullinger was supposedly a top 5 draft prospect but fell to 21st due to a back problem issue in his college days. Ainge took the risk and it is now paying off. He can be their top rebounder as the season goes on.

Man when it rains it pours as not only do the Lakers lose their 6th in a row but so also Jordan Hill lost for the season requiring hip surgery for torn labrum

that's always tough, to see a player have a season ending injury. i should imagine, it's panic time in lakersland. mitch has to do something before the trade deadline. they're 5 games out of the 8th place.

in the meantime, i can sense that amare's comeback has spelled a losing record for the knicks, nothing they wished for. but with felton down, they have been on the ropes a bit. ny got blown off by the bulls in another inspiring performance by chicago, sans rose.

Think it has more to do with loss of Felton (who also plays good D in addition to his offense) than addition of Amare. :) Kidd is exposed now. Hopefully the return of Shumpert, their best defender will help cushion the loss of Felton. Plus hopefully Wallace will be back one of these days :(

Could be too early to tell, it looks like the Heat will again face the Thunders... And it looks like the Heat could win it all ... again. it doesn't look good in the East. The knicks don't look that great, nor the Nets,Nor the Bulls. Pacers are good but not ready for prime time. In the West, GSW and Clippers look good but not enough to beat the Thunders as for the Lakers they should write this year off and think about draft choices although they may have had traded their position to some other teams thinking they were going to make the playoff, a possibility that is getting more remote with each (customary, now) loss. :(

I agree. One wonders now about the trade possibility of injured Gasol and/or Howard.

What happened to Rasheed. I didn't know he was out. He remains ever dangerous with his 3's

Something with his foot. Been out a while and one wonders if it's not a stress fracture, considering he was in terrible shape coming into camp.

Yes but haven't Nets won 5/6 since PJ took over? Much different rotation with PJ and Johnson, Williams and Lopez have been playing MUCH better ;)

Indeed they have. But unless they show a tough, choking and rotating defense, they will not go very far in the playoffs. Knicks have shown signs of improved D this season. And now Boston has to contend with knocking off 2 and not just 1 NY team. Suddenly, they're only 4 games behind the Knicks, instead of 8. :D

Clippers just lost to the Magic in a trap game. Memphis and the Clippers on Monday should be a brutal game between two physical teams. These two teams don't like each other.

Dang, shouldn't lose to the Magic!

Clippers dismantled Memphis last night and handily beat the Rockets tonight.

Chris Paul missed both games with a bruised knee but Eric Bledsoe really stepped up.

Jamal Crawford was the star of the game tonight with 30 points.

deep bench.

Crawford looks to be a future All-Star. Wouldn't be surprised if he makes the team even if he's a 6th man.

Looks like Dwight Howard has decided to start playing some real basketball. He's put up big numbers for the Lakers in their last two games.

Is Pau due back soon?

Maybe the Lakers have turned the corner.

So it's possible for Dwight to put on a terror act together with Kobe, both hitting 31 points. And Dwight had 16 boards and 4 blocks too. That's what he's supposed to do night in and night out if expectations are to be lifted for the Lakers, even without Gasol.

Nets win again under PJ making that 9 of last 10, 11/2 back of Knicks and 2 back of East leaders Heat :) PJ seems to have taught Lopez how to rebound and block shots.
