New pink fuse from SR

I'm curious how others burn-in journey went with this fuse. I just put one in the PSU for my network devices, and one in my headphone amp. Initially I am feeling that it might be too much noise reduction, to the point that things are a little flat. I've encountered this with some other recent UEF tweaks, heavy-handed noise reduction takes some of the life.

I'm not sure I would trust an external magnetic breaker in place of a real fuse. If it fails...Also, no doubt there is more current, but no more noise reduction.
Well burning in a fuse, and I have experience with many scenarios (different fuses in different devices and use cases) is not a linear progress! It depends on the vendor, type of fuse etc. but you definitely most likely will need 250-400 hours to get to a stable and developed situation
That’s also when the joy of listening to music is there. During that journey it’s as you me mentioned doubtful.

I can tell you so far you absolutely can. Having used fuses in the range of up to 4 digits and trying to push the limits of associated devices - the performance and noise reduction used in a Farad power supply with that technology is really outstanding. Take the chance if you get to listen to one of them.

I brought the Pinks back After +500 hours they didn’t do what I hoped for my system. The highs where to much upfront, it all sounded to direct and analytical. It took the warmth and soul out of my system.

What I definitely did like was the boost in the kickbass. It added more punch and attack. The bass was much more tight but lacks the deeper end. It had better separation. The soundstage widened and rised. (Compared to QSA Yellow)

The Pink really cleaned up everything but was way too clean for me. It made me the music less engaging for me.

I tested 2 of them and tried them in my valve amp, streamer and Farad Super3 LPS. All with the same result.

I think if you have a too warm or bloomy system or need tighter bass, the Pink could be an addition. I found the SR Purple fuse the fullest and most luscious sounding. QSA Yellow in between.

Grtz
