Thanks for your excellent & meaningful review.

I got my X9000 today, and …I really can’t add anything of relevance to your words.
My impression - compared also to the 009S - is pretty identical.

My amp is the German Audio Valve SOLARIS (a multi-type Tube HP-Amp, also suitable for dynamics & magnetostats) and the power needed appears more or less the same for both the 009S and the X9000. (meaning: yes, both need lots of power...!!)

Besides the better sound of the X9000, I also value what I call the better handling , e.g. with the new headband construction and the even more comfortable ear pads.

I have a set on order, just waiting for them to arrive at the UK dealers. Part exchanging my 009 for them. Looking forward to their arrival.
