head to head, if possible both servers with both dacs. various interface options according to what is workable. for as long as it takes. no time limit.

i even bought an 8TB SSD for the Wadax Ref Server so i can load files to compare directly. it will come with a few test files, but an empty SSD chamber.

i've gone to a lot of trouble to have this opportunity. and will move around my system to allow for all this gear to work. you can imagine i have thought a great deal about it and the process.

that is my plan. the challenge will be to have both dacs close enough to both servers for a 1.25m USB cable. that's lots of big very heavy boxes and power supplies in close proximity. we will find a way.

You will need Javier's support because Wadax Server can control the usb signal to make optimal for your system.

I think that is a bit unfair… and I’m going to defend Mike on this one. First, Mike is my friend, and I don’t know him to anything but honest. And he has very good ears and he knows what he wants from components. Now he has arranged an opportunity I’m sure at some cost to himself to do in-home comparison of a couple contenders for the crown, something most of us only dream of. If anyone is “all in” this silly, expensive hobby its Mike. If he likes the Wadax, and find it gives him more than he gets from his MSB kit, good for Mike. I don’t think I have the ears to hear a lot of what Mike does, but i will be one who is curious to learn from his experience. I trust Mike will be able to articulate what is better (?), what is a push, and what might be inferior.

Does that mean MSB, or dCS, or Lampi should be kicked to the curb? Those who are “all in” might make a change, but we’re talking the top of the mountain here, would it be so bad Mike declares a new reference (for himself)?

your skepticism is legendary, but do you have a solution for me? i accept that MSB nation is not thrilled with this.

better to just post one day that i've made a change? don't ask me why. honestly i am not that certain what will happen, or what the delta will be. sure, i have my expectations or i would not be doing this. it's lots of effort for me to know things and not just assume.

The nasty attacks of quite a few members in relation to the Tripoint Audio components - without having heard a single one of them (under controlled circumstances) - is a prime example of this behavior. Do not give a damn, go your own way en keep sharing your experiences (in a honest way) for all those WBF members that are seriously interested without prejudice.

i respect your Tripoint experiences, but it's an outlier as a product category for most people, so that tension and conflict come with that situation (does not make it right, but it is logical). this is different. i do understand how personal you feel about it.
