NFL Start Of Season

Chuck

the Falcons are going to be a formidable opponent as they are really that good.

Not unlike most teams, when they play well, they are very tough and very good. But inconsistency could derail them at playoff time.

While it appears (again) that the Patriots are probably the team to beat, they too, suffer from some ailments. (I think Tom Brady may be an alien -he is so good). It also seems as though parity lives in the NFL and since a fair amount of "good fortune" is required to win the Super Bowl, there are a lot of teams still contending - which is why I find this season so enjoyable.

Buccaneers? They got worse than drilled: 41 to zip. I agree with you on the Seahawks, however.

So did the Giants versus the Falcons and the Niners vs the Giants and the Packers vs the Giants ... They have a good QB whose learning the game, fast, good defense, running game and receivers.. I hate their, however good, coach :)

I watched Monday Night Football last night. More confirmation that Mark Sanchez is a really bad/inconsistent quarterback. Mistake after mistake.

The Jets are a total joke. Leaving out the discussion if Tebow is or is not NFL quarterback material, to have him play one series or even one down never allows him to get into any kind of rhythm and then screws up whatever rhythm Sanchez might develop. That game was hard to watch.

Since they are not going to use Tebow, they should eject him and Sanchez (write off the $8 million as a bad investment) and move forward. Some guys are not made out to be NFL quarterbacks and Sanchez, in my opinion, is one of them.

Anyone see the power rankings this week.

Seahawks are rated 4th ahead of the Pack and the 49ers

49ers have their hands full this weekend in Seattle. As much as I am a 49ers fan they might fall. If so the Division title goes down to the final week

Hi

I was in NY when the Jets had a very good QB (came from the famed Class of 1982 which gave us Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Boomer Esiason, John Elway, Curt Warner, etc) Ken O' Brien who could have been great and when he had the time was extremely accurate .. He never made it because his offensive line was so poor. He got hit so often that his arm became hard and he lost his accuracy... Vick got benched because of a poor offensive line... Sanchez could not play well wih the bad ofense (bad offensive line, no receiver, no backfield no nothing) .. I am not saying he's great or even good but I am not sure he was the problem ... If they get Vick and they well might .. He will go through the same problems he experienced in Philly getting rushed, getting hit, getting harassed play after play, unless they get better at the offensive line and get him a few received who can catch the ball consistently, they may have Santonio Holmes by the way ... The Philly are not doing any better with the kid they have at QB .. They are just losing by a slightly smaller margin...

Jets are shopping Sanchez. Word is they want Vick
A sports commentator says the NY Jests are a good match for Alex Smith demoted 49ers QB!
Why would anyone want Vick when the rookie QBs are doing so well at bargain prices? Look for Vick to be a backup next year.

I wonder if the NFL defense will not counter the new plays by rookie QBs... Seriously I did find the Giants dumbfounded by the same plays against RGIII ... The 'Skins ran the same plays throughout the game with the same results. I believe NFL defenses will adjust as soon as next year, meanwhile the true good QBs will continue to blossom.. RGIII and Luck are truly exceptional. Luck may go a little further IMO because he protects himself better .. RGIII will have to be much less recjkless: it is not worth sacrificing his career for the good of Mike Shannihan or any coach .. I feel this coach has been irresponsible with regards to the health of a stellar fanchise saving QB .. I am a Giants fan

RGIII gets the nod for this week.

The Giants look like they're going nowhere ... They got blown on both sides of the ball by the Ravens ..

Redskins looked good in this win vs the Eagles

The wild card position has resulted in two SB rings for the Giants.

Apparently the Seattle stadium is the loudest in the NFL. Not a great place for an opposing, basically rookie, QB to fine tune his trade. If you were a SF fan, it was down right ugly!
