Yes, I am starting to feel like a total mug not heeding the concerns of people on this forum. I ordered an arm for my DST cartridge towards the beginning of the year. I had lots of emails and nice words to get the order. Promised the arm within 8-10 days…nothing. Chased and some weeks later I was sent photos of the arm and asked to pay the balance, which I did. I received an email showing the postage with an estimated delivery date. The delivery day came and went. 2 weeks after that day I emailed to find out what was happening and whether he could track the item because it hadn't arrived. I was told about his health issues and age, and that he had accidentally sent my arm to his US distributor but he would make me another arm, even more beautiful, immediately…that was over 6 weeks ago. I have chased a few times, but either to no reply or a short message saying he was in the workshop and would email me later.
I am sure he’s a decent guy, a skilled craftsman, and has his issues but it can’t be hard just to keep a list of your orders and tick them off as you go. I am not one of those people who goes online to complain - I always give people the benefit of the doubt, I am patient and I understand when things go wrong - but I am really peeved about this. You pay your money on the promise of an item to be provided within the timescale provided by the seller and then you're just messed around or ignored.
It is a real concern that he is advertising his services on various FB pages and indicating that arms are either immediately available or in emails promising an 8-10 day turnaround, which he must know is total nonsense.
I know I should think myself lucky compared to others in this thread, but I really think this guy should call it a day if he really cannot manage his business properly.
