If anyone can fix Philips, is their new CEO, Frans Van Houten who is quoted there. I worked with him at Microsoft. The first reasonable Philips executive I found who finally put emotions aside, and worked with us on merits of the discussion and technology. He left for a while to run their semiconductor spin off but they brought him back to run the whole thing. Good move on their part although very tough deck of hands to deal with.
