Piano videos

Is the way to post a video to upload to YouTube then link?

Yes.

For unfamiliars, the way I do that with Android:
a. Have an account / channel on Youtube
b. Make a video with the camera of your phone.
c. Open Youtube app and click the + symbol at the bottom of the screen. That should open your list of videos organized by date/time
d. Pick the video to upload. It may start playing. Click the Next button at the bottom of the screen.
e. Click the Upload button. Click the Circle icon to see the upload in progress. The upload may take a while depending on length
f. Once uploaded you should see the video shown in your Channel content
g. Under the Visibility column of Channel content you can control whether it is Private, Unlisted or Public. To allow the video to be seen by others, choose Unlisted or Public. Also add a title, description, etc.
h. Play it to check for quality.
i. Use the native URL or the Share option in a post on forum. Forum only needs the URL and will connect with Youtube.

Or something similar to those instructions. Ask if you need help. It is pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

It’s not the mic in the phone that is the problem. Phone videos are perfectly adequate at conveying the character of a system.
I would beg to differ on that....it depends on the phone (or the recording device).

I have multiple devices and they all sound differing, if you will...

That said, let's get back to your thread. My apologies for interrupting.

Tom, I never wrote that different mics, phones, devices don't sound different. I wrote that they are not the reason that some system videos sound good and others do not. The typical iPhone video uploaded to YouTube is perfectly adequate to share, judge or distinguish between systems. That is exactly what we are doing on this thread.

Ah, but I have i-(fill in the blank), along with 3 different Andriod devices.

My point is this....all of them sound different on my computer when played back.

This should (in theory) skew....awe heck. It is what it is...

Kedar, do you think this video sounds good?

The music in it is excellent, and it sounds natural. Is is it lacking in some aspects (weight, drive)? Yes. But I think it if it had 50 watts instead of 8 it would be better. Is it a speaker I am recommending, no, because for that small speaker function O96 is way cheaper and easier to drive. I think the SJS electronics are very transparent to recordings and musical though (though this last point is not audible from one video)

For me this thread is as much or more about the music as it is about the system video.

Here are two parts of Mozart's Piano Concerto Nr. 21, featuring Freidrich Gulda with Claudio Abbado and the VPO.
DG 2530 548

Originally released in 1975, this is DG's The Original Source (TOS) version, 2024.
To my ears one of the finest TOS releases yet.

Mozart Piano Concertos Nr 20 21 Gulda VPO DG 2530 548.jpg

Presented first is roughly half of the opening Allegro Maestoso (mvmnt 1).
Skipped over most of the orchestra intro to get to the piano sooner.

I could not help but record the dreamy Andante in full (mvmnt 2).

Very nice Tim. That Andante is indeed dreamy. The piano has great presence. I like the music, the performance, and the presentation over your system.

The piano in the first track seemed to have a fuller sound, more organic also

Thanks, A-line. I tend to agree. For me the piano is more immediate and present, and the presentation is slightly more open. I also hear slightly more nuance and ambiance, which I think contributes to the sense of presence. Thank you for sharing your opinion.

I have this LP in the original DG version. Some people don't like Gulda which I find shocking...

Lots of great piano pieces in this thread and I have most, if not all, of the posted tracks in LP format. :)
