Psvane Acme Series (new flagship series)

I'm not ready to go as far as the above but there does seem to be a break in communication.
I have made several attempt's to communicate with my seller and none so far have been answered.

Mine are 2A3's and upon first try my experience was much like thomask. It sounded as if several veils were lifted and the sound was quite clear. I also noted that the bass was more solid than the tubes they replaced. Since then they have been very lackluster and even boring to listen to. My hope's are that surely they wouldn't sell tubes for such a price unless; a. mine are in some way faulty or b. like other Chinese tubes they take several hundred hours to reveal themselves. So, ..yawn, someone please wake me up when the real ride begins. In the meantime Psvane, we could all use some reassurance that we didn't just throw all our money into an empty rabbit hole. We want the good's.

Which vendor did you get your 2A3's from? Could it be more the vendor you are dealing with and not PSvane?

My 805's were purchased from Grant Fidelity in Canada and arrived in great shape. They are still breaking in (about 20 hours in only so far) but they are sounding mighty fine - much more clarity and air than the stock tubes they replaced on my Line Magnetic.

That’s good to hear freesole, I’m now thinking at this point though I’ll wait to see how everyone’s replacements go and allow for a bit more time to see how everyone’s Acmes develop.

Given some question over their consistency I’ll now just get Cossers for 805s in the short term and go Acmes for 805s later in the year if things get more consistently reliable.

I’m also a bit more likely now to go with the new Western Electric WE300Bs instead as they are finally taking orders but also I’d give time for the first run to get out and for early adopters to also report back before making that call.

I love the Lm508ia so much I could well go for a couple of different premium 300Bs for it in the long run. Main thing is I hope Psvane get the Acmes working for everyone and fulfill the promise of a premium 805.

Putting a wish out there for the audio elves... I do wish KR Audio or one of the other specialist hiend valve manufacturers would have a go and do an 805 valve... KR have an 842VHD and an 845. There’s quite a few 805 amps out there and that would be great to be able to consider for the future as well.

Been running the Psvane around the clock and they are sounding very nice now. More open, detailed and sweet up top. More like the $600 tube's I thought I was buying.

$600? Are these the ACMEs? GF charges $900.

Mine are the Acme 2A3's. $625 at GF.

Gotcha. Sorry, I might have missed that. Glad to hear that you are enjoying them.

RTiger,

Thanks for your experience with the new Psvane Acme 2A3's from Grant Fidelity. I am on my third set of 2A3's all purchased from Grant Fidelity over the past decade. So far my current set of Psvane Treasures (with the grey coatings) have lasted 4 years in my Cary Signature monoblocks, going typically 16 hours a day. When I first met Grant and Rachel (at the first California Audio Show - nee Dagogo) I was impressed by their expertise and experience and the value of the products they were importing from China, well before most of us had heard about these brands. They included the first high end Shuguang and then Psvane tubes which I tried after the KR tubes that I had been using skyrocketed in cost. For me it has been well worth the small extra premium I have paid for the Shuguang and Psvane tubes for the additional quality testing and confidence I have purchasing from them (and Rachel, since Grant's passing).

Larry

That's good news Thomask. Hopefully it can be resolved quickly. I also thank Astrotoy for sharing his experience with GF. In my case I wish they would have replied to my inquiry's. Otherwise as long as they honor the warranty I'm satisfied.

I had exchanged e-mail with dealer.

His virus program filtered any e mail with enclosed files to spam mails

The dealer will ship new replacement 805 Acme tube on Monday.

I will update the situation after I receive the 805 Acme tube.

Hoping the replacements come through and are everything they have promised to be Thomas. Looking forward to hearing some good news on your 805 Acmes.

Since Monday I doubled up on breaking the tubes in. I now have a couple hundred hour's on them and last night I had a little listening session. I chose Willie Nelson's "Stardust." and sat back for a good listen. The tubes sounded totally different than before. A complete turnaround. The most remarkable thing I felt was their clarity. It seemed crystal clear. I had no problem imagining I was in Willie's presence as he sang. The tone sounded right and added to the forward picture in my head. I have a headphone system in case anyone is wondering. The background was totally silent, instrument's were solidly placed. Far enough a part that I didn't feel anything was missing or being obscured. I'm now satisfied my $600 was well spent. I hope everyone has a similar experience as myself.

GD Parts replaced my tubes and they have arrived at my friends. My friend has sent me a photo too just to check if we have a problem visually. There were none. I have asked GD Parts for tubes measuring 90mA this time and as the photo shows, they have sent those.

I hope your friend has some way to test the tubes out prior to bringing them over to you. You may be running the risk of them being DOA and missing a window of opportunity to have them exchanged in China, or exchanged at all.

Agreed. A thoriated tungsten Elrog 805 will do wonders IMO.

I had listened to replaced Acme 805 with Line Magnetic 508 for 24 hours.

It is one of the best new tube with transparency, excellent soundstage and nice details.

I have Synergistic Blue fuse, Shuguang Treasure 300B and CV181z(6SN7 equi) and Mullard ECC35 in Line Magnetic 508.

Although the price is a little bit on the high side, if Psavne give one year of warranty then one may consider using it.
