I had been to back and forth between Line Magnetic 508 and Silbatone 300B to feed Lansche 4.1 speakers(specified eff 99db/w but real 95db/w).

I felt that 8W Silbatone 300B fitted with WE original 300B made in 1930's give more transparent and much tighter and deeper bass than 48W 508.

Silbatione(20k$) is a premier integrated amp with silver foil output transformer and exotic parts.

After I change from Shuguang Treasure CV181z back to Sylvania 1944 6Sn7 and change feedback to 1 (no feedback), LM 508 approach to 90% of Silbatione's performance in transparency and bass performance.

Now it is a close game between LM508 and Silbatone 300B.

I really believe that Psavne Acme 805 tube is excellent and now I consider ordering Psavne Acme 300B to compare with WE original 300B made in 1930's.

That’s great to hear Thomas, there’s also the new WE300B due out from Western Electric as well. It’ll be interesting to see where upgrading the 300B drivers in the Lm508ia will take it now that it’s sounding so good with the Acme 805s.

I recommend you to change to Acme 805 first since it will have more effect on the sound.

If I get Acme 300B, then I will compare it with WE original 300B in Silbatone amp.

Sadly, my second pair is also faulty. One of them makes a high pitched sound even without connecting to speakers. It kind of whistles. If I shield it with my hand or some metal it becomes less audible but still there. I am sending the second pair back as well. The GD Parts is still good and they told me they can refund me...

I was really hoping to go for the acme 845 but I do not know what to do now. Try to get a third pair, change to we845+... It is a hassle too to get the tubes through customs etc. and takes time to receive the shipments from China to Turkey.

Sorry to hear it Kodomo, must be very disappointing.

Well, I have been getting even more excited with the positive reports! So yeah, it is disappointing...

That's rather unfortunate. One would think a company like Psvane would be able to implement a solid QC process for a new tube offering, especially for one as heavily touted and priced as this one.

My first pair of ACME 300Bs had one unruly tube and were sent back. The second pair arrived late last week. I have only 30 hours on them so far of mostly frictionless media served on autopilot.

Once they have a couple more weeks in the socket, I'll start to listen more critically and roll them in comparison to both Sophia's Royal Princess' and their diminutive blue bottle WE repro's.

The rate of failures across different versions of the Acme series leaves me very reluctant to purchase the 805s. Please keep us posted on how their sound progresses. Which other 300Bs do you have to compare them to?

Please have your opinion on Acme 300B after it is burnt in...

I am interested in Acme 300B to save time on my WE original 300B.

Apart from the pairs mentioned, I have black bottles, Sophia carbons, and Sophia mesh-plates. While these three pairs were in regular rotation eight years ago I wonder now, from the couple hours I've actually spent in the sweet spot with the ACME's, if they would even be found in the same arena today. I'm game and I'll roll 'em too, might be surprised.

*edit*
I should add that the unruly tube tested fine when Grant Fidelity received it back, it just didn't seem to like either channel of my amp. Also the warranty process was the smoothest I've experienced with a tube manufacturer.

Two pairs of ACME 211. First one more than 100 hrs, the second pair around 70 hours. Very positive impressions! Much better sound compare to KR211.media-share-0-02-05-aeb27868634d9f8c1fcacad83dc2250fa78392f6c15c4bc9fcc48f1f372fb7ba-3fe7e1a1-...jpg

How many of you guys have upgraded any of the internal parts in your LM508ia? I believe they are rather responsive to upgrades in coupling caps and selected resistors where production price point compromises have been made.

The LM508IA I have here is the version Robert Lai (the LM Dealer in Singapore) mods with upgraded mundorf caps and Japanese Kiwame resistors throughout. Sounds pretty spesh. I have it on a Shunyata Cyclops and Anacondas wired with Wireworld Platinum eclipse signal cables and it’s sitting up on Stillpoint ultra 5s and it’s sounding meaty dynamic and wonderful even with its very very stock tubes. Upgrading the valves is next up.

Are there anybody using Acme 300B?

If so, I wish to get opinion on it.

I consider ordering Acme 300B for my Silbatone SET.

I had been using WE original 300B made in 1930's in Silbatone.

But I wish to save time on WE 300B tube since I had already run 10K hours on it.

Acme 805 sounds natural with no problem after 120 hours.
