QSA LANEDRI Series

Hi Steven,
Very glad yo see that there is a QSA Forum on WBF.
Congratulations!

I think I wrote the first QSA review on WBF, back in 2012.
:D

May I ask you two questions?

Firstly, I notice on you website that QSA-Lanedri cables are being launched.

May you tell us more about them?
What metals are employed and what special features do they have?

Secondly, several frds of mine in Hong Kong have bought QSA JitterPower.
IMG-20221230-WA0009.jpg

Again, please tell the WBF members more about these series of accessories.

Many thanks!

Cheers,
CK

Hi all,
Some of you may know me as a DIYer from other forums. I am here today to report my spectacular experience in adding the QSA Lanedri Gamma Revelation PC and Gamma Revelation XLRs to my system.

What did I replace and where (in the end)?:

1. Furutech DPS 4.1 between the wall and my Uberbuss power conditioner, with Fi-50 NCF series connectors.
2. DIY single helix Mundorf Angelique XLR cables between the DAC and my preamp. (Later, the DIYs were moved to between preamp and amp and i'll talk about what those replaced later).

So where did I begin?

1. Swapping the VH Audio Flavor 4 PC with Parts Connexion Rhodium plugs on my server LPS.
2. The Viborg vp1501 with Wooden bodied/rhodium plated plugs from Aliexpress feeding the DC4 powering my JCAT USB XE.
3. Replacing the Furutech DPS 4.1 with Parts Connexion Rhodium plugs I use on my Yggy Lim Dac.
4. Replacing the Furutech DPS 4.1 with Fi-50 NCF connectors at the wall feeding my power conditioner.

The first swap, I noticed an immediate drop in the noise floor and a notable improvement in subtle detail expression. This was wonderful but it didn't "wow" me although I knew there would be plenty of potential there that would unleash itself over time. I decided to try my luck on the DC4 powering my JCAT USB XE and this blew my mind. I could not believe the improvement in dynamics, openness, reduced noise floor and slam. It was like a huge veil had been lifted but it did seem a bit imbalanced/exaggerated although really fun. Worth noting the above tests were conducted several days into my journey and I had not yet installed the Gamma Revelation XLR cable.

Over the course of several days, the sound quality became more natural and refined, with even more resolution coming through than I ever thought possible of my system. I decided to move the Gamma revelation PC even closer to my DAC (which uses a QSA Violet fuse), and this swap unfortunately did not go as planned. Mind you, this is early on in the journey of the power cable's life (several days in) and I quickly came to the conclusion that I missed the body and presences of the DPS 4.1 although resolution had gone way up (this is on the DAC). I did not have the patience to leave it there, so I replaced the Furutech DPS 4.1 at the wall, feeding my power conditioner (I plug my amp directly into the QSA Red receptacle at the wall FYI) and I have not been able to remove it. This is where I think I will keep it. It sounds AMAZING feeding the Uberbuss.

The moment the Gamma Revelation was installed at the wall, this was the moment I think I finally got a taste of what everyone had been sharing. The sound was so dynamic, transparent, natural and pleasing to the ear. I just can't wrap my finger around the words to describe how positively impactful this swap was. I was not prepared for this positive impact and I am now trying to figure out how to purchase the Gamma Infinity to replace it so that I can move this Gamma revelation elsewhere (eyeing the preamp which I have yet to try). So needless to say, I have not moved the cable from this position and I have no plans to move it until I can upgrade it.

Since it is incredibly difficult in my room to swap XLR cables, I left this for last. I had been using AudioEnvy O'Nestian XLRs between my preamp and amp for a while now. A nicely priced and excellent sounding IC. Unfortunately it held back the Gamma Revelations that were installed upstream. The impact of installing the Gamma Revelations between the dac and preamp was most definitely muted until I moved my DIY cables back into my system. The level of realism and presence I am experiencing after these cable swaps is truly astonishing. I am not really able to describe this profound improvement. I like to think of the addition of QSA cables as removal of various bottlenecks which were limiting my system's potential, allowing my system to reach a level I did not know possible.

Hopefully this post was simple enough to follow!

Cheers,
-Rob

The Gamma Series is beating almost everything out there in the market if not all of them at any price level. We compared the Gamma Series against 50k+ USD cables and they did not have a chance

For clarity which version of the Gamma Series is this statement related to ? Revelation? Infinity? Both?

The Munich High End Show is in our plan but It will be tight for this year to exhibit the QSA Lanedri cables.
Thanks for that.
Yes I can appreciate that Munich this year would be a big ask and demoing at Munich is obviously something you would want to get right first time.
I am planning to go to Munich this year so hearing your cables there would be a bonus, but I would understand completely if it did not prove possible.

I’ve attended a number of sessions put on by Nordost at audio shows over the years. They usually just use their own cables and move up a level at a time. The first year I attended, they started their power cord pitch by using some more expensive power cords from their competitors to compare against their least expensive model.

While I already know what to expect, I would still love to see @QSA-LANEDRI do a similar pitch just so I could see everyone’s reaction. :)

For the first week, excellent recordings sounded magical, but lesser recordings had a bit of an unnatural edge. It took a few days for me to even want to try to listen to lesser recordings. But that changed after about 9 days. Everything sounds better than ever. The clarity from these products is just astounding.
So relative to your Shunyata loom, are these better or different?

We did almost all of our comparison testing using Revelation cables. Infinity takes everything the Revelation does further and is effectively a doubling of the treatment that is applied. All the qualities of Revelation are enhanced but the overall presentation is denser, more immersive, and more refined.

So in short
Expect unexpcted in amounts never seen before with all Ultimatum Infinity cables ?

Yes, for the Ultimatum Infinity cables, that is what the buyer should deserve to expect. Because QSA treatment is unique, we do not expect these cables to have an equal regardless of cost. They're either the best you've ever heard by a significant margin and without excuses or return them.

I too have a love/hate relationship with audiophile cables, fuses etc. I hate that they add so significantly to the cost of the system, yet I can hear when they make a difference, and in many cases, as profound a difference as a component upgrade. Such is the case with these QSA-Lanedri cables.

I had already heard the impact of QSA fuses, having tried the Silver fuse in both my Extreme server as well as my amp. In many ways, the QSA-Lanedri cables are a much easier sell than fuses. First, I find their impact to be even larger than the fuses, and with the current promotional prices Anas is offering, the cables are a much better value. Plus, unlike their existing fuses, most audiophiles already have cables of appreciable value in place, so the real question when considering these cables is: do they outperform your current cable(s), and what is the price delta?

During the course of R&D, Anas was kind enough to allow me to evaluate Gamma Revelation power, XLR, and LAN cables, as well as a Gamma Infinity power cable. As others have already reported on this thread, these Gamma cables deliver a startling improvement. At its foundation is a deeper, more prodigious, and more articulate bass. Building on that, I hear increased transparency, better dynamics, and greater resolution, but mostly with these cables in place, my system has never sounded as natural and effortless. Removing these cables after evaluation has been quite a wrenching experience.

So where did I try these cables, and to what was I comparing them?

Taiko Extreme Server

My Extreme is powered by a Sablon Prince cable that I have loved since I installed it. I first tried a Gamma Revelation cable, and found to my surprise that it sounded notably better, especially in the area of transparency and resolution. However, there were elements of the more expensive Prince that were missing, most importantly a viscerality and muscle that is the Prince's forte. When I tried the Gamma Infinity, the Extreme really showcased what the Infinity adds over the Revelation. I would agree with @romaz's description, that the Infinity adds density and refinement. Instruments sounded more dimensional and real. Still, I continued to crave the Prince's physicality, and so this is a component where a Spectra cable should fit well. I have sent my Prince to Anas for treatment, and I am hoping it will return to me transmogrified to a Spectra Revelation.

Vinnie Rossi L2i SE amp with L2 DAC

My L2i SE has been running with a Cardas Clear Beyond cable, one that I had been very happy with for over a year. But here, the improvement with the Gamma Revelation was astonishing, and there really is no going back. And just like on the Extreme, the additional benefit from the Gamma Infinity over the Revelation was equally large.

Gamma Revelation LAN cable from SOtM switch to Extreme

Those of you who've followed my network tuning adventures on the Audiophile Style "novel" thread know that over the last few years, I've tried pretty much every network tweak out there, and had reached a point (thankfully) where the Extreme's hardware and OS tunings had rendered the effect of the network chain to be fairly small. I really did not expect the Gamma Revelation LAN (ethernet) cable to have much effect, but this is one situation where I feel "gobsmacked" is an appropriate term for my experience. The cable being displaced was no slouch, the Sablon 2020 Ethernet cable, which I had preferred over a bunch of other cables I'd auditioned a while back.

The biggest surprise for me was not the improvement I heard, which was along the same lines as the power cables, but rather the magnitude of the improvement. I would say the effect of this LAN cable was at least the equal of the Gamma power cables on the Extreme and the L2i SE. This was actually unsettling, as I've come to expect relatively minor improvements with upstream changes ever since the last round of OS improvements Emile made about a year ago.

With the addition of this LAN cable, with the Gamma power cables already in place, I experienced what so many others here have talked about: the additive effects of the QSA treatments in the system. I can honestly say that with this set of cables in place, my system is almost unrecognizable from its former state. All the clichés about not being able to end listening sessions late at night apply, as this is exactly what has been happening!

One final note. These cables sound great from the get go, but do take 10-20 days to really open up. The LAN cable, in particular. was more of a roller coaster, injecting a hint of brightness from time to time during its burn in. Now, after about 2 weeks of continuous operation, there isn't even a hint of that brightness, and all is good.

In conclusion, the QSA-Lanedri cables (with the promotional pricing) significantly outperformed my existing cables of approximately similar value. Should funds allow, the additional investment in the Infinity's is well worth it, and the increase in SQ is very substantial.

These cables are really something, and worth a close, a very close, look!

Totally agree on the Sablon Prince's physicality and superb power capability. It is not "amp'd up" but just THERE in a way few if any cables match. I find them a fantastic match with the Robert Koda K160 monos, the Sub and the Zanden Transport. With the Robert Koda K15EX preamp and the Zanden DAC, I found the Z:Axis cables created more intimate, nuanced and filigreed elements throughout the sound spectrum...remarkable given how many world-class cables have come thru this system over the years and Sablon had trumped them all.

That said, I did lose some of the magnificent effortless power, and found (as with all things) that by the time we had shifted speakers which were being dialed in, added the Entreq latest signal ground alongside the Tripoint doing chassis grounding...that the overall balance 'snapped' into place perfectly after a number of things had settled in.

I am MOST intrigued by what happens when the Sablon Prince comes back from Landeri-QSA treatment. Please update! Definitely looking forward to reading about that.

Thank you for this very interesting feedback !

I have already place an order for :

- A gamma infinity power cable to power my total dac d1 drive , reclocker and d1 direct dac
- A gamma revelation power cable for my server
- A lan gamma infinity cable through which all the data musical flow goes to my renderer red dock .

All that should be interesting , I'll have to wait until the end of February for the next batch of product .

Looking forward to it. !

I think I last checked in here when my Revelation cables had 10 days on them. I thought they had gotten past the worst part of the burn-in process. They had, but there was still a bit of a roller coaster ride over for the week that followed that. The last few days though it has been apparent that something very special has happened here. Clarity and transparency have increased to where it seems these cables have nearly vanished.

I keep coming back to two live albums from the Chick Corea Trio: Trilogy and Trilogy 2. Foremost, I love this music and how these musicians perform it together. I also love how well it’s been recorded. Drums and cymbals are as realistic as I’ve heard them - and that realism comes both in the frequency and time domain. Tone and timbre are spot on, and so is the way energy is radiated into the room when they are struck. This realism can be found in McBride’s double bass and Corea’s piano too, but as a drummer my ears gravitate more to the drums and cymbals.

It’s been astonishing to hear the sound evolve as each time I’ve checked back in on these recordings. I think they might have taken the greatest leap forward in realism most recently. I have to admit though that I did shift some things around a little to over a week ago as I moved my amp over from sharing my second dedicated circuit with an original Typhon to the amp running off the Denali powered with a Revelation cable and the Typhon sharing the same outlet with the DenalI. This was a big improvement but the roller coaster continued for a bit after that and then finally it seemed as if the clouds parted and oh my gosh. I am now hearing more evidence from cymbals that make them sound convincing real. There’s a crispness to the music now being conveyed that is what I hear when I’m in the room with these instruments that I hadn’t heard prior to the Revelation cables being swapped in.

These recordings have also served as a reference for me as I listened to a friend’s system. He has an Extreme driving a DAVE powered by an ARC6 and this has been aspirational to me in many ways. The reproduction of these cymbals had always been taken to another level in his system. I actually think the Revelation cables are now showing me things I hadn’t heard there. Of course I’m only going by memory but I think it speaks volumes about how much realism has been advanced in my system. I have no doubt his system will have leaped even further ahead next time I hear it as he also swapped in Revelation cables. I can’t even imagine how insanely real that’s going to sound.

Next up for me is receipt of my first Gamma Infinity power cord. This will be swapped in for the Revelation that’s feeding my Denali. I can’t wait! The freed up Revelation will go down to feed my AV system. I can’t wait for that too!

Fantastic .
thanks for very detailed info of what to expect.
It looks like 2 weeks might be the minimum to get the sense of how they really perform ,
but upto a month for full performance.
Having a 3 kw system permanently on might be difficult but necessary for burn in.

Is there a chance for any quick burn in ?
Some companies nowdays pre burn their products.

I think after 48 hours it’s already obvious that there is something special about these cables - especially with outstanding recordings. It’s just that a bit of unnatural edge can be found in lesser recordings. After about 10 days much of that is gone though some days seem better than others. After 21 days it seems that the cables have vanished regardless of recording quality. But more importantly, the QSA magic is having more of an impact.

The number expressed by a fraction can grow by either increasing the numerator or decreasing the denominator. I think after about 10 days it becomes more apparent that both are occurring. QSA is allowing more and more goodness to come forth and cable burn in is removing harm that got in the way.
