Rhapsody.Audio- Listening Rooms (RLRs)

Rhapsody.Audio would like to announce that within the next 3-4 months there will be multiple new locations where several of the product lines that Rhapsody.Audio represents will be available to audition via Rhapsody.Audio Listening Rooms (RLRs).

Konstantinos and Costas(?) of Pilium visited the Portland RLR yesterday -- a treat to spend time with the mind behind the sound. I love meeting with and learning from the passionate and creative individuals who drive this hobby forward.

Please forgive the crap photo — pumping up the lighting isn’t always good with LED lighting it
throws the color balance all to hell.

Konstantinos Pilios, my good friend, and the owner of Pilium spent the last 4 days visiting Rhapsody- Brooklyn. This concluded his trip which started in San Francisco, then on to Portland, OR, then Dallas, TX and finally ending in Brooklyn.

Konstantinos visited Alon at Magico to see the Pilium system which drives the Magico M9s in the Magico showroom, then Konstantinos visited the Portland, Dallas and Brookklyn Rhapsody Listening Rooms.

Thank you SO MUCH for your week in the US and visiting us all. Greatly appreciated!!!

The Esoteric N-01XD network player, which either plays the Esoteric player (Qobuz/Tidal/Spotify) or Roon via the Taiko Extreme server (N=01XD is Roon Ready) driving the F-03A (30 Watts, Class A into 8 ohms or 60 Watts Class A into 4 ohms, surprisingly to me drives either the Magico A5s or the Raidho C1.1 speakers, which both are not that easy to drive. I have no desire for more power with either speaker and the sound is VG, with the pure class A amplification.

The N-01XD utilizes the latest Esoteric in-house DAC's which imho are VG sounding.

I heard the predecessor design driven by 14 tube watts at the New York audio show in 2012. I think it was called the Leonardo and the whole point was that it could be driven by low powered tubes and not massive solid-state according to the guy running the room at that time. Perhaps the new designs are different.

Yes, Leonardo was the Alsyvox predecessor, also made by Daniele, the owner of Alsyvox. Daniele has been using a 30 Watt tube amp during all of this Leonardo and Alsyvox development over the years.

I am presently using either 600 Watts of Pilium SS power or 200 Watts of VAC power. I like both sounds.

How did you like the (then called) Leonardos?

I enjoyed them very much. I had never heard low powered tubes drive panels before. The guy played a couple of my LPs on a Redpoint or Galivier TT. He liked the LPs so much he waited for me to return so he could use them for demo. Vivaldi Four Seasons Winter, Neville Mariner, and Carla White, Mood Swings. The audience loved it too with many writing down the info. The sound was very clean, dynamic, coherent, and open with decent tone if a bit lean sounding.
