Following up with the M9 delivery pics above, to one of Rhapsody's customers in Ohio, yesterday we de-installed the existing Q7s and crated them (they are for sale), then we installed the M9s. WHAT A DAY!!!!

We still have work to do but the M9s after much placement adjustment and MXO crossover calibration, which we will do again after the M9s have 300+ hours on them, but last night especially with vinyl the M9s sounded shockingly good, especially for being installed a few hours prior. If someone walked in and heard them last night I don't think they would be able to tell that they were installed a few hours earlier.

For serious interested M9 potential customers it is possible to audition this pair of M9s in Ohio. If interested please pm me.

Q7's getting ready to be moved up the stairs and into their crates.

It actully took 4-5 hours to uncrate the M9s, bring them into the basement (many steps, ugh) and started to play music. We then spent 5 or 6 hours adjusting placement, removing the pins in the Mpods and working with the MXO crossover after running calbration "noise" using a room frequency analyzer.

It’s informative to see the M9's in this domestic setting - a “real” home environment. In addition to what must be an amazing sonic experience there, the Mighty Nines are visually STUNNING! Thank you for sharing these pictures and I look forward to further updates on how they are settling in.

And happy holidays too!

What a project Bob. Did that red cart/lift come with the speakers? That’s an impressive effort.
In 25 years of doing installs the extraction of the Q7s and install of the M9s/MXO was the most complex effort to date. The issue was going down a flight of stairs to a landing, making a turn and then down another flight into the basement. Both bringing the Q7s up and the M9s down was "interesting"- not one scratch.

The red cart came with the Elam Brothers who do piano moving, 9ft. Steinway Grand type moves. They are out of Cincinnati. They have been doing Jonathan Valin moving in and out with audio equipment for 20 years. They are strong and amazing. They recently removed a 3000 lb safe out of a residence.

For large scale installations I use the Elam Brothers for the installtions, they can travel anywhere in the US.

Just...WOW! What are the room dimensions, Bob?

It’s interesting how there’s a lack of audio file acoustic treatments in the room. I also like the open space in the corners behind each speaker. That likely reduces room issues. I think I see an Air Force one on the rack so there will be vinyl presented through these speakers.

I think it’s very cool to see gear at this flagship level in photographs of people’s homes and shared on a forum. It makes me wonder just how many systems are out there of very high-quality that we never hear about.

I’m guessing the rigs represented on forums constitute a tiny fraction of the hobby. Its only us obsessed knuckleheads spending valuable life minutes posting on forums!
