RMAF 2011 - Who's in?

As long as the Bent Fork Grill didn't derive their name from serving tough meat, I'm in too.

Many of us are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn so perhaps they might have a shuttle to get us there. Failing that a taxi serves well

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting those members who I don't know

Resos made. Bent Fork, 8PM, 15 people. They're giving us a "back room" to accomodate the large group.

Probaby is best to keep us out of sight.

Thanks Ken

for the sake of our reservation we need to check between now and then to make sure no one has dropped out and/or others want to join us

Will do, Steve. We stretched their reso calendar to the max and I want to confirm later, anyhoo, just to make sure we're in their system. We can probably tweak the count up to the very last day, if needs be.

Their back room is nice - it's a wine cellar thing with bottles of wine lining one wall. I've only had steak there so can't vouch for any of their fish or seafood dishes, but it's definitely not tough. One year, we called 2 days ahead and ordered a prime rib roast for the party. That was before this recession.....

It sounds like a fun party and I'll do my best to be there. If I can't join you, I'll bring my dealers and customers there too so that at least I can come in the back room and meet the members.

Great, count me for two: me and my girlfriend who will also be at the show :)

Yes it is. Are you thinking of doing that on same night as the dinner, or on another night? Or both?

How about Friday and Saturday??

We'll be showing as usual this year.

What's not usual is that I haven't decided on the demonstration yet. Do I show a speaker that is appropriate for the size of the demo room, or show a speaker that is impressive but is too large for the demo room?

Gary, your FM Acoustics/Reimyo/200 speaker setup was spectacular last time!

How about Friday and Saturday??

Sure! I'm on "Show Hours" which means that after dinner, I'm back in the room until midnight (at least). One year, we stayed till 3am when I was teaching a rep my loudspeaker set-up process.

That was a couple of years ago, and my dealer had a large enough room. This year, I'm in one of the small hotel rooms and trying to decide if I want to bring the new 7-series (small, realistic size for the size of room) or to bring the new G2jr (too much speaker for the room).

Gary, what are you going to be using for an analog or digital source? I would love to be able to hear a direct comparison of the Playback Designs MPS-5, Dcs Puccini, and EMM CDSE digital front ends at RMAF:).

I would love to do that but I don't think that's going to happen. For one, I wouldn't be able to convince anyone to loan me equipment if I were to do comparisons like that. I have to do the comparisons myself and then I'll bring the one I want to demo with. Some manufacturers are not willing to allow me that.... and since I can't afford to buy every DAC out there, I'm restricted with what I can get for shows like this.
