what about JA80?
With EL34s that's not going to be enough power for big classical.

I went to a demo by Dr Matthias Lück of the Brinkmann turntable with the valve power supply and Edison II phono and was hugely impressed. He brought along one of his copper master discs.I want to thank publicly Norman Cones of Stereo Squares for a perfectly fabricated and fitting acrylic cover for the Balance turntable.

Good idea on the alcohol wipes! I haven't come across this before, so thank you.Thank you!
No, not heavy.
What makes you think I have dirty paws?
I generally make very liberal use of alcohol wipes before I touch acrylic covers or records or tapes -- so I don't get fingerprints on anything.

nothing. fingerprints don't need dirt. just normal hand oils. and constant wiping your hands with alcohol can really overly dry your hands too. i need proper control (dexterity) to flip my records confidently with the platter turning. What makes you think I have dirty paws?
be careful as many types of alcohol will cause acrylic to get cloudy and develop microfractures. as you are thorough, talk to Norman about it so you start out knowing what method is best. maybe those first aid kit wipes are perfect?I generally make very liberal use of alcohol wipes before I touch acrylic covers or records or tapes -- so I don't get fingerprints on anything.
Did you consider an Atmasphere MA-1 to the panels? It has an excellent balanced input, it would be ideal to your long cables.
You mean from wiping my fingers with the alcohol pad and then lifting up the cover? If so, not enough alcohol gets transferred to the cover to do anything.be careful as many types of alcohol will cause acrylic to get cloudy and develop microfractures. as you are thorough, talk to Norman about it so you start out knowing what method is best. maybe those first aid kit wipes are perfect?
it's not tubes that you love, it's transformers.Yes; I love the crystalline transparency of OTL, but it always reads lean to me -- the exact opposite of what I need for the Pendragons.
yesterday i listened for 4+ hours and flipped sides 20 times. are you saying the cover stays off during sessions? you won't play with the cover on?You mean from wiping my fingers with the alcohol pad and then lifting up the cover? Worrying about this is waaaaay too OCD for me.even if you move it twice a day for 6 months, that is lots of alcohol in the same place every day. i guess you could hold your hands in the air for 30 seconds every time prior to touching the cover.
I am afraid I don't know. Finger sniffing doesn't turn me on.how long after the wipes are done can you smell alcohol on your fingers?
The one I heard that didn’t have that leanish character was the Tenor OTL. Apparently, the Joule Electra ones were also somewhat rich sounding but I never heard them.Yes; I love the crystalline transparency of OTL, but it always reads lean to me -- the exact opposite of what I need for the Pendragons.
You americans are sooo funny, hahaha ! But I like you guys, haha !Correct. I will not play records with the cover on.
