I surely disagree.

i know. no worries.

It is an hobby, we have our passions, but many of us try to keep cold as much as possible and keep objective. And science explains and can help the high-end - but many audiophiles prefer to ignore it.

a few.

i know i have little interest in 'cold'. and even less in science.

Ron doesn't think. He just acts. That seems clear after 7~ years....

IMO Ron thinks a lot, much more than we think. He loves to share his system, room and sonic findings with the members of forums he owns. He loves hearing from people in this forum. Why would he get a turntable that brings with it a non disclosure agreement and, if some one anytime wants to change, must be sold through the manufacturer?

Peter bought a turntable…so what? If he enjoys it and thinks it’s the best then why should he care what anyone else does or says regarding this brand of TT? Only if you are concerned about resell value perhaps?

it has nothing to do with retail value about which I have no concern.

In theory, at least, they will be a sonic improvement no matter what, because I think literally everybody took a dim view of my DIY amp stands on big Sorbothane hemispheres.

I never signed any non-disclosure agreement. The topic never came up.

David was perfectly fine for me to sell the AS-2000 myself. There is no requirement to sell back to Vintage Audio Specialties.

I do not know what you are talking about here. Please explain.

It may not seem like it at first blush, but I think there are are some significant design similarities between the Balance and AS-2000:

-- ethos of simplicity

-- belt drive

-- no suspension

-- mass based platter (different weight and scale, of course)

-- tonearm pods are anchored to plinth

-- motor sits separately

-- no servo control of motor

-- high machining/finishing quality

BB has been around for what, 4 decades? Many users, lots of feedback and many arms used on it. For me, one needs a stable table that does not do anything negative, is complete (e.g. no leanness, no bump, etc etc) and then let the cart take over with a good matching arm

The Avalon sounds good nice speaker

Avalon is great cone speaker. Verity, Zellaton, are too. Sigma MAAT is a cone that can run on SETs and does the whole midrange bass thing excellently so probably comes up trumps. And is flexible and can easily be biamped.
