Scary Movies

@Bob - Yeah I enjoyed Nightbreed. This one wasn't too far from the book it was based on, "Cabal".

@Bob - Gee how often does that happen? LOL - A really funny comedy! :D

Another Action-Fantasy with horror elements that is worth watching IMO is Nightwatch.

Burnt Offerings. Late 70s film with Oliver Reed and Karen Black. I cannot erase the creepy face of Karen Black at the end of the movie. Reading the synopsis again on Wiki spooks me out as I have virtually forgotten the plot but not Karen's face.

Saw this movie as a young adult and it freaked me out pretty good. I'd love to see this again. Might not hold up, but would be fun.

---- I presume that I might be that 'Bob'. :b ...Because the other is 'Rob'.

If so (or not), you're off topic; go start your own 'comedic' thread. ;):D
...This is the 'Scary' thread. :eek: ------------------- ;)

This is one movie I do not intend to see again. I might not enter a dark room in the house again if I watch Burnt Offerings again.

That's the genius of it. First your scared, then you laugh. The scene with the sexy neighbor is classic.

Rosemary's Baby

Suspirira

Nightmare on Elm Street

The Shining (suspenseful, if not scary)

Another funny/scary is Wes Craven's 'The People Under The Stairs'

Opening scene (and others) of Scream are great too

-- Ok, I'm guilty as well here. :b:D

* Anyone has ever seen the flick 'Feed' (2005)?

_________

& yes, I have the DVD (not on Blu that one), and it has the cover picture ^ from the second one.

Zombieland :)

---- Really. Can you please refresh my memory, because I do have that one on Blu, but cannot pinpoint (from only my brain) that particular scene with the "sexy neighbor". :b

Is Nightbreed on BD?

---- Not yet, but comin' up this year though. :b ...I'm gong to get it! :D

Clue: He thought he was going to score but she almost ate him!

-- We're doing pretty good so far in this thread. :cool:

We mentioned some of the best 'Scare' Masters (writers/movie directors):
* Stephen King
* Clive Barker
* David Cronenberg
* John Carpenter
* Sam Raimi? ...The 'Evil Dead' Series? :D ...Plus plus plus ....

______________

Anyone here saw Ryuhei Kitamura's 'The Midnight Meat Train' (2008), on Blu-ray (or DVD)?
...Starring Bradley Cooper and Vinnie Jones. ...And from Clive Barker's short story.

Also, anyone have seen 'The Haunting in Connecticut' (2009), based on true events?

...'The Fourth Kind' (2010), starring Mila Jovovich, and based on actual case studies?

...'Evil Dead', 'Evil Dead 2', & 'Evil Dead 3'.? ...Based on pure fiction. :D ...I think.

Some info on a possible Nightbreed Blu here:

Wow, good job Rob; that 'master' link you just gave us contains all the other links. :cool:

* I just luv movies! ...All kind of movies; from very funny Comedies, to disturbingly emotional ones (Horror, Blood, Scary, Ghosts, etc,), to Epics, to Westerns, to True Stories, to Romantic ones, to Thrillers, to Big Action ones (Hollywood style), to Foreigns (Worlwide), to Classics (B&W), to Musicals, to Science Fictions, to ANYTHING you just name it. ...Some are intelligently made, with fantastic storylines and cinematography, and others are sick to your guts and mind (directed by all kind of people).

But I am much more influencable by the intelligent ones, of course. :b

And some scary flicks are directed by some great movie directors (in the genre), and also written by some great storytellers/book writers.

You know whats good about movies? ...It's like music, you can like or dislike anything you want, it's great! :b ...We're free to choose; to love, to dislike.
