I totally disagree. I had the Apheta 3 with the Sutherland TZ Direct and it worked perfectly. Initially I auditioned it with the Little Loco. I now use the Aphelion 2, which has practically the same specs as the Apheta.
I was told for transinpedence you want 10 ohm or less

Picked up the Sutherland SUTZ for my other system , I'm using the mm on my VAC master huge upgrade . This is a great way to introduce transinpedence

+1 for Sutherland, I use the Phonoblocks with my Hanss T-60 and ZYX Ultimate 4D
and simply love it. You could spend more ,but why!

Congrats!

What is the SUTZ? Layout looks like a Little Loco.

This never came up in my discussions with Ron Sutherland. We focused on current and voltage. Doesn’t mean you are wrong. All I know is that both the Apheta 3 and the Aphelion 2 have worked perfectly with the unit.

Apheta 3 is 10 ohm
Yes, at the upper end of the 10 ohm range, but can’t detect any anomalies. My preamp volume control maintains a similar setting as when I had my Manley Steelhead as the phono stage.

I just verified with who told me , up to 10 ohm is best but carts up to 20 sound excellent also .

For trans-impedance input the lower the internal impedance of the cartridge, the higher the current from it.
Therefore as low as possible is the way to go i.e. in the ultra low 0.2 to 0.5 Ohms up to max say 2 Ohms if you really want to get the best advantages out of a trans-impedance input !
I would say 10 Ohms is way to high to fully benefit from a trans-impedance / current input.

Just as an FYI, the Sutherland TZ Direct offers 3 internal options of output gain. I have left mine at the default”middle position”.

Well said , my cart is 0.5mV .
You have quoted the output voltage not the internal impedance ! For trans-impedance inputs it's the internal impedance that is the more important parameter !
