Then create a thread with such tittle. Some of us are happy with the current thread but will also be happy to participate in the new thread - we also like dreaming!
You are definitely not a dreamer Francisco, you are a doer when it comes to equipment purchases ! ;)

Thanks for letting us know your anti-preference. At less a few hundred happy users disagree with you ... ;)
That doesn't mean much...

For me it means a lot. YMMV.
By your measure, there are many many speaker brands/models out there that are better because there are more happy customers.

Better thread is what top 5 speakers you've heard vs owned. Otherwise, mostly a boomer exercise
I'm enjoying this "boomer" exercise. Looking forward to your better thread.

I m quit sure mine will do the job .
93 - 94 db efficient and in the bass they stay nicely above 5 ohms which makes it easy for (tube ) amps , giving crisp / fast Bass response.
They only drop to 3,5 ohms at 10 Khz

You re welcome to have a listen whenever you re in Brussels .
But ,... Yeah yeah yes i know you only buy well distributed / advertised acknowledged brands ;).

If only the VIVID G3 ( or version 2 , also 87 db ) had a 3 db higher sensitivity i would recommend them .
The impedance graph looks good for tube amps , the G3 mk2 also has a 4 ohm minimum impedance .
But its a exxcelent speaker (incl flat response ) , which i possibly would try with a 32 watt tube amp despite having a 87 db sensitivity

Okay Micro , home work for you .
Im sure you have a dealer distributor of Vivid in your country to try these out

You have 2 good options Vivid G 1 and Vivid G2.

The G1 is 92 db efficient and has a minimum imp of 3 ohms at at 20 khz , it would be nice to have a G1 graph so we can see the full impedance graph , but this and the G2 look to be very promising .

I might also add that it was a strange comment coming from you because you are already ne here who claims not to take much stock in anecdotal evidence, which is of course what the number of happy XLF owners would constitute.

Incl a 6 moons review in which he comments they even resemble somewhat electrostatics , ........ in short it seems like a no brainer to give them a try and comment about it on the forum , thank you. :)

J atkinson has done all the measuring already , it looks like a 3 ohm minimum in the Bass for the G1

You’re assuming he was serious…I don’t think he was…it was more a dig at the ML-3.

If i had the ML3 / LL1 sign combo i would probably keep them and change the speakers if needed (that said my exposure to Lamm is very limited .)
People are making the assumption that the Lamm SETs are the be all and end all but as I have not heard the ML-3 I would reserve judgement on that. I am sure it is not a poor sounding SET but is it better than other high power SETs that cost a lot less...really not sure about it.

I am pretty sure though that it is good enough that it is worth fitting the speakers to it rather than the other way around as Micro is doing...fitting amps to the XLF.

Here is the XLF graph .

You have a 7 - 8 db suck out at 2,3 khz .
This is a hearing sensitive area .
The XLF's average voltage sensitivity was measured by JA at 92.6 dB(B)/2.83V/m
But at 2,3 khz its only around 85 dB(B)/2.83V/m. sensitive
So besides that the tonal balance is off in that area the Lamm will also struggle there XLF .jpg

Well I did my best to help micro out but as always he did not listen, bought the amps, and put them on sale after 3 months - now it's been over 4 years.
