Well, I own it and no one wanted to to buy it at the advertised price when I listed it a few months ... Curiously it sounds good with my old van den Hul Black Beauty (.25mV) .
What kind of Adyton phono do you have? Adyton Chorus?

My Colibri Sig sounds good enough right out of the box that I don't need to waste cart life hours using a pink noise break-in record for 100 hours. Seems like such a waste. 100 hours of listening time is significant.
I have such a burn in device for cables to, it’s called Oppo 105 D. I activate the repeat button and leave it on for weeks. Also a good tool for scaring awayI think the clearaudio break-in record claims to reduce break-in time to avoid using up many hours of a cartridge. I would expect it to do its job in significantly less time than 100hrs. I asked Shakti how many hours he used it.
But I heartily agree with you. I generally decline use of break-in records or discs and rather hear what happens during that time and enjoy the music even if it is not the epitome of what the gear is capable. Also to describe break-in in reviews; how many times have I heard someone exclaim: "I listened to my new Funkwangler 450 for 3 days and it sounds like **** - did I make a mistake?" Except cables, I will use a burn-in device on cables outside my system.
Cristian, have you played rock and blues with this cartridge ?My Colibri Sig sounds good enough right out of the box that I don't need to waste cart life hours using a pink noise break-in record for 100 hours. Seems like such a waste. 100 hours of listening time is significant.
yup...rock, blue, jazz and classical. No bass issues. I expect things to improve significantly with timeCristian, have you played rock and blues with this cartridge ?
How is the bass ? Fremer preferred it with classical, but he was getting ready to
review the MC Century, so who knows ? Hes always got some agenda

burglars when on vacation or marten/ferrets when they try to move into my attic. Digitale can have its purpose !
Hip Hop and Tex Mex music are the preferred categories for such occasions
Thank you Cristian !yup...rock, blue, jazz and classical. No bass issues. I expect things to improve significantly with time
The Master Sig is the cart that I listen to most. I like it so much I bought another one just in case some unfortunate thing happens. The only irregularity I found with the Master Sig was the imbalance of left-right output in the first two months. The image was skewed to the left. I think awsmone caught that hearing from my video recorded Hilary Hahn a while ago. I dont know what happened but now the image is dead center. To me the tone of MS is very well balanced. The cart got really really transparent after 157 hrs. Yes it has the highest degree of sibilance among the carts I have. I actually dont want to tone it down. I dont want to compromise the optimum point I found in my cart setup. It could be as holographic as the Opus1 when tuned right.I have added horizontal and vertical damping. This is an option on 4 point that I did not need before. The sound is more balanced and relaxed, however there is still some sibilance but at least the overpowering of highs is much less now. I have also found the cantilever is not completely straight so corrected the alignment a little more. It is not a lot but still... I am also using it with a very little tail up. Now the small changes in vta makes big difference in sound too.
I am giving it time to play to develop further. Some records you hear no problems and some have but every now and then it surprises me with great sound.
Ddk has the MC Century. It is a very different cart to the MS. He described it to me as "nosgaltic."
Kind regards,
Tang
The MC Century. I cant describe it for him. But I think it is the kind of sound that is something like a "remastered" vinyl. Could be favored by some. Could also be unfavored by the others.Tang, which cartridge did David describe as nostalgic, the Master Sig or the MC Century? And what is meant by the term?

Isn't vdH himself using an SME 312?
Yes, I'm referring to the modern 312s, not the vintage 3012. Similar to your V-12.Are you referring to the current 12" 312S (similar to the 9" SME IV) or the vintage 3012R? I am not sure what the SME 312 is.
