The End Of A 35 Year Journey ---Zellaton -The Reference Ultra Final Frontier

The truly extraordinary and incredibly rude behaviour of some members here leaves me (A HUGE Zellaton speaker fan) no choice but to leave this thread. Wishing you all the best with your purchase Steve and hope they bring you many hours of great musical pleasure and satisfaction.
I understand your consternation. Micro has a way of demolishing threads . My hope is that he hears you and he starts his own thread and that once I take delivery of the speakers you will find your way back to this thread.

Please don't stop sharing your hifi journey with us Steve.

I always enjoy reading about how/why/what others choose their gear and how they like it.

@microstrip and others who feel subs are a prerequisite to owning Zellatons

This is absolutely ridiculous - you are distorting other people posts and intentions. I never said such thing.

Lets start with Best "Sound"in Show by Robert Harley

What is the point? If you had read my posts in this forum I had owned Zellaton type speakers much before you dreamed about it and said great things about them.

I put up 3 reviews none with Zellaton employing subwoofers. I was trying to once again make a point to suggest that your very stiff necked opinions don’t ring true.

Gideon IIRC said here that in 14 years he has never recommended subs with Zellaton. None of these reviewers felt the need.

Mike Malinowski doesn’t feel the need with his Statements

I agree, it seems the subwoofer discussion has run its course. Next.

As an update ……..my 35 year Wilson journey ended today (with the sale of my Wilson X2 Series ll)and my Zellaton Reference Ultra final frontier starts Wed with the shipping out of my speakers to their new owner leaving me with a 3-4 month void as I will be speaker less until my new Reference Ultra speakers arrive. This will be the first time my room goes silent in over 20 years. In fact a WBF member was slated to pay me a visit this Wednesday for a listening experience I told him that I will give him a 4 month rain check o_O

And so it begins. …. Stay tuned

That was my understanding as well and was one of the main reasons I went Reference Ultra rather than Reference MK ll
I wonder if they're now suitable for electronica. I was told - rather snootily, i might add- that the old versions weren't capable of doing this genre justice.

Are you considering a budget-friendly interim speaker solution? 4 months without music!

interesting you should ask as Gideon has offered to send me a Plural Evo. I might take him up on that as being without music is something that sits on my mind

To answer your question. This video is pretty darn convincing

I winder what those little Schnerzinger boxes are in the background? Probably EMI and Grid Protectors

Every new component/ Loudspeaker in your own system adds knowledge / experience .
