The End Of A 35 Year Journey ---Zellaton -The Reference Ultra Final Frontier

Certainly you know but this is where I got that price. I'm over my head and out of this now. Best
The Classic Series has the Reference Mk ll and the Statement

Then there is the Ultra Series from which I purchased the Reference Ultra

and what LLoyd and Gideon were discussing was the soon to be announced Statement Ultra which is the price I discussed above

So can we please drop the subject. I appreciate your comments but as stated subs are not in my great scheme of things.. Time to move on
Amazing and pretentious how some folks think they know what your personal preferences are or should be versus you. Clearly not your first rodeo.

And congratulations on your new kids. I am very happy for you.

Is there any way to start a separate thread on use of subwoofers and leave this thread free for people who are ONLY interested in Zellaton speakers and have ZERO interest in subs? Many thanks
Amazing isn't it. The thread being hijacked and dominated by subwoofer integration posts when the OP has made it very clear he has no interest in the topic. Very rude in my view.

Hi Steve
I am glad to hear you’re on the move.
It’s great to see you go and push the envelope of the speakers. What’s the room size? Why didn’t you go to Statement Ultra… is there such a thing? I know Malinowski has the Statement but I think his is prior to the ultra roll out

if you follow the thread........https://whatsbestforum.com/threads/the-end-of-a-35-year-journey-zellaton-the-ultra-frontier.40135/page-8#post-1026566

room size is 20 x 15 x 9

Statement would be too big for my room. The Reference Ultra will be just perfect and once again the use of subs isn't going to happen

Well, I disagree with you - Steve posted he will not use subwoofers and even added more data - he found that no people owning Zellaton's have subwoofers in his research. I am very interested in Zellaton speakers - the discussion why subwoofers do not match Zellaton (or Zellaton users do not match subwoofers) can be extremely interesting.

Surely I would have a different view if this was Steve system thread - but as far as see it was posted in the Manufacturers, Distributors and Dealers Forum

Pure semantics IMO. Agree with 151 above. Pretty obvious to me regardless of where the OP initially posted. But what do I know.

If you think that topic can be extremely interesting, OK. Easy. Start your own thread.

Sorry, are you now a WBF moderator?

I would be happy to tell you why I feel this is a legitim thread subject, that is interesting in this thread and can become lost in a separate thread. IMO the best WBF debates have systematically been in cross posted threads. But I feel this is not the proper place to discuss it. ;)

Francisco...different strokes for different folks. I have heard them and what I heard absolutely does not need a sub(s) in my room . I have zero desire to go down that route. If you recall I had a pair of Gotham G213's a few years ago in my room and they were impossible to ever satisfactorily integrate with my Wilson speakers. In fact when Gary Koh (Genesis) visited and Damon Von Schweikert (VSA) they both commented that my room would sound better without the subs It took me the better part of the next year to come to that conclusion. My room never sounded better once I removed the subs. The Zellaton IMO has even better bass than my existing Wilson, so as I stated I have zero interest to poke my head again down that rabbit hole. Im quite happy with my decision and am counting the days when the speakers will arrive. I will keep you posted and you would certainly be welcome for an audition but I can promise you that all you''ll be hearing will be the Zellaton Reference Ultra

Considering the size of your room, I have no doubt that a subwoofer would not be easy to integrate or beneficial - in my experience subs should be far from the main speakers - I had mine 5 feet back from them. I also found that when using the Lamm ML3 with the XLF it was not possible to integrate the WatchDog subs properly in this system - I have now an idea why, it is not relevant here.

As far as we can see now in this thread we can get the idea that Zellaton's do not integrate with subs or with people liking them ;) . I think it is a false idea, worth discussing.

What I find interesting is that all users I’ve talked to and Mike Malinowski here with Statements all say a sub is not necessary yet you who I’m assuming have not heard the speaker emphatically state otherwise. I’m sure in the thread you start you will have members agree with you but I’d be surprised if a Zellaton user stated they are using a sub or wish they were.

Francisco. This is a post of yours in a different thread. I’m suggesting you follow your own advice here

IMO you should read the thread you refer and my post with care before posting such advice. Are you suggesting that subs are not speakers? Or are you forbidding people with Zellaton to get subwoofers? ;)

BTW, driving a talk with ChatGPT with proper care during five minutes through this question provided me a much better insight on the subject than this WBF thread. I have to try DeepSeek soon ...

Anyway I have a good relation with our local Zellaton distributor - he sold me my VTLs - I will question him on the subject as soon as I visit him.

I started the thread. I’ve made it abundantly clear I’m not interested in subs with the Reference Ultra yet you continue to tell me I should. I might be interested in reading your thread but not wanting you to pollute this thread
